should i buy Target Marketing Systems Berkeley reviews

Utilize limited space with the Berkeley Computer Desk. It has open design to allow for number types of office equipment, and sliding keyboard shelf and mouse surface. Constructed of stamped PVC and powder-coated steel frames, and MDF board. Computer desk measures 27.5 inches long by 19.68 inches wide by 28.35 inches high. I'll give this desk 2.5 stars. It met the requirements I needed, fits in small space, inexpensive (although there are cheaper). I read the reviews and everybody seemed to be happy with it. As far as the design goes and build quality after it was put together I give it a 4. The reason for the low score is due to the fact that some of the plastic endcaps were not included (leaving the sharp metal edges exposed), the wood is really particle board with a large wood print sticker over it. Not a big deal except that it has bubbles under the sticker and parts of the stickers were peeled back and faded. Unfortunately it's obvious this company did not believe in quality control. I say "savvy" in the title really only because I was hard pressed to find another 's' word that describes this desk. But the first two words really are accurate. While I don't use it as a computer desk, it has proved to be well put together and easy to clean. In my line of work, all sorts of grime gets onto my work surfaces. Add some feathers and its a complete disaster. So I'm not sure what it's made out of, but this desk is really easy to clean off with a little vinegar. It also does not wobble at all, or sway like you are trying to work on the back of an elephant. Or something.
The one complaint I have is the difficulty I had in putting it together. The packaging was great and everything, but it took forever to figure out how to install the roller tracks for the keyboard drawer. This was especially disconcerting because I was being timed on how quickly and accurately I could assemble the desk. As a hint to those reading, the two sections come apart when one applies a slight pressure to the small plastic tab at the end.
I ended up not using the wheels since I would not need to move the desk around, but discovered that my horribly bloated legs would not fit underneath. So it required a couple inches of raising.
The upshot: A good desk for the price. Will serve my grimy, feathery work environment for years to come. In looking around for an inexpensive mobile solution for my home studio, I came across a lot of desks that didn't quite fit my need. The Berkeley Computer Desk was the ideal solution for both the height and portability I was needing. I was also able to attach an ergotron arm for mounting my 24" monitor to the desk. Rolling it across carpet is a bit of a work out but it's a lot easier than dragging out a bunch of hardware or fumbling with my lapdesk. The slide out piece for the mouse was useless so I ended up removing it from the bottom of the keyboard tray. I also added a custom shelf to go across the lower set of cross bars so that I had a place to set my laptop. The assembly process IS a sort of feat as the instructions are not that helpful. My plan going forward is to re-enforce the back of the desk and look for larger, more durable casters. I don't expect this desk to last forever but you really can't beat the price for size and portability. The first computer desk I received seemed to be just what I wanted. I had it about 2/3 assembled when I realized the frame, specifically the piece that holds the slide out keyboard shelf, was damaged and appeared to have been packaged that way, since the packaging showed no signs of damage during shipping. Fortunately, returning was easy, but nevertheless, I had to do the assembly twice. It was also kind of confusing to figure out how to take the sliding mechanism for the shelf apart....it came as one piece for each side, but had to be taken apart for assembly, and the "picture only" instructions did not show how to do that. But all in all, after it was assembled, it's what I was looking for at a decent price. I was initially looking for a a keyboard tray to add fix on my wooden desk. After research and study, I concluded that rather than damaging my wood desk with an uncertain item which didn't get that many enthusiasts, I'd better look for a little desk with a keyboard tray. I am glad I opted for this safe and convenient solution.

I have a 27" flat iMac monitor on it, with other electronic pieces. The monitor is heavy, and the desk is sturdy, no shaking when typing.

I easily assembled it (except for my own mistakes) and quite fast (much less than an hour).

However, there are few things you might want to be aware of before this purchase, or assemble it (I'm used to putting together furniture IKEA type).

1- This desk is definitely conceived for small people like me (5'3"), if you are taller than that, you might have problems fitting your legs below (unless you have a very low seat). Anyhow, make sure you can adjust the height of your chair.

2- The mouse board is almost unusable, it is too low, and not flushed with the keyboard tray. I personally use it to put my glass.

3- On the other hand, I have a thin regular apple keyboard, and use a wireless mouse, next to each other. It works on the keyboard tray as long as you do not mind moving keyboard and/or mouse while working.

4- If you do not mind bending, and do not print a lot, the printer fits beautifully on the bottom shelf. However, if you do care, you'll be obliged to put the printer on a side table, especially when it comes to changing (too often) cartridges.

5- Yes, the wheels are not of a great quality, but on a wood floor they suffice, and allow you to move the desk without any difficulty for cleaning.

6- Regarding the assembly, it is "easy" as long as you have the right tools i.e. an electric screwdriver, a ranch, a drill, some patience and common sense. To what was said by other reviewers, I'll add:

* Follow the drawing alone. Do not get confused by the letters on the drawing and those stamped on the boards, they do not correspond (shelf N was stamped M, shelf O was stamped K).
* Watch out, the bottom shelf located on the same side you'll place your keyboard tray, and sit, is not flushed with the wheels, in order to allow you to have a (really) tiny room for your feet (I told you, you'd better be small like me). It is flushed
on the other side though.
* I'm not brilliant, so it took me a little while to separate the two parts allowing to slide the keyboard tray (G1 & G2). Instead of damaging the rail, slide open the two parts to the maximum from each other, and you'll see a little black plastic
piece to push down. This allows you to pull them apart.
* I needed an adjustable ranch to hold screw D while tightening screw C.
* Do not get confused by the"pre-drilled" holes to place the racks of the keyboard. They are not properly located.

7- This is a very convenient little desk for an amazing price, aesthetic should in no way enter into your decision. If it does, I'll advise you to look for something else.In looking around for an inexpensive mobile solution for my home studio, I came across a lot of desks that didn't quite fit my need. I don't expect this desk to last forever but you really can't beat the price for size and portability. I needed a small desk on casters so I could move my new computer anywhere in the house. This one fit the bill perfectly and was definitely in my price range. It was fairly easy to assemble and sturdy. Kinda hard to go wrong with this one. Took a little over an hour to assemble, just a simple picture guide, but I found it easy to understand.
It fits perfectly in the small space next to my bed in my room and appears study.
No cosmetic blemishes, was shipped in perfect condition and had two screws left over.
Good deal for the money, I'd buy another one. I'll give this desk 2.5 stars. It met the requirements I needed, fits in small space, inexpensive (although there are cheaper). should i buy Winsome Wood Foldable reviews

The unit arrives requiring minimal assembly (four wood screws provided with hex driver) to attach the folding top. Note that the hex screw driver is totally inadequate as provided...expect to use a motorized or other serious hex screwdriver to get the screws completely in. I hate to think about other products from this company that must be assembled..it took considerable effort for these simple four screws.

The beechwood is solid wood, quite beautiful (needs oil polish to preserve), and somewhat heavy for the size of the item. For anyone wanting yet another piece of furniture, but has space constraints, the Winsome Wood Foldable Desk is an ideal choice.

The surface comfortably holds my laptop, a lamp, various desk items, and has space to spare on one side or the other for papers. It folds up easily when I need to slip it out of the way.

The major detraction here is the keyboard shelf. If you like to do anything with your legs/knees other than sit in the prim and proper upright position at the desk, then you're in trouble. Removing the shelf is the simple solution, but since it does aid with the stability of the desk, the desk is a wee bit wobbly without it.

A side note: Winsome Wood is a name I've known since I was very young. It has a great deal of quality credibility attached to it. And while this desk is all wood and functional, I would have expected something of slightly higher quality given the name. However, I did only pay about $100 for it, so I'm not really complaining.
I tend to travel and move a lot and so this desk is perfect for me. It can fold up and fit in my trunk (along with my folding bookshelves). It is relatively light weight, and yet sturdy (as long as you keep the keyboard tray in it). Oh, and it looks beautiful. This desk is so easy to put together. It is very sturdy, not to big, not to small and looks good in the room. The part that slides out and holds the keyboard has metal corners just at the right height for my kids to whack their heads accidentally as they pass by (eta or when they come up to me and practice their newfound jumping skills, as my daughter did 5 minutes ago). And the tray also falls off regularly. I gave two stars simply because it is made of real wood. But other than that, it's a pile of fail. I'll have to put some double-sided tape on it covered with plain to make it safer. I bought this desk for use with my small Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) setup, centered around a 17-inch MacBook Pro on the desktop, with monitor speakers on either side on foam risers. The interface is in front of the right monitor (I'm right handed) and my headphones stay parked in front of the left. To use my 49-key MIDI keyboard on the computer keyboard shelf, I relocated the drawer slides 5/8" lower. This put the the top of the white keys right at 27 inches up from the floor and the bottom of the keyboard shelf at 24 inches up. Even with my office chair at the highest setting, I still have an inch or so between the shelf and my legs. The desk top is about 29-1/2 inches up from the floor.

The solid wood quality and beauty of this desk far exceeds that of the vinyl contact paper over sawdust wood furniture you pay almost as much for. The strips in the "butcher block" top and keyboard shelf are constructed of shorter (than full length) pieces spliced with very well done finger joints.

Assembly was a piece of cake. The four screws are not at all hard to drive in if you hold the long side of the allen wrench instead of the short side, and turn the screw 120ยบ or so each time. You also don't fully tighten any of the screws until they're all in 90-95%. This keeps them from binding. Those with low hand strength might also remember to drag the threads of a wood screw across a bar of soap before driving it. I hope this helps. Not the same quality I bought 10 years ago. I just wanted to match my Mission style shelves, but it was a disappointment. The wood and craftsmanship are inferior. I bought Foldable 4-Tier Shelf, Foldable Cart and Foldable desk. I kept the first two, but the desk was so bad, huge pieces of broken wood were patched with the wood filler on top and the bottom of the table, I had to return it. I don't recommend this product. This item is surprisingly flimsy. The instructions direct you to build the product upside down, which I did. While flipping it back over after building it, I did not exercise extreme caution and one of the flimsy legs cracked. The desk is still usable, but I was disappointed

The list price of $199 is absurd. I'm now thinking that $99 is a bit much to ask for it as well. It's seriously just a few bits of finished wood attached together.

The product came packaged with large sheets of styrofoam around it. I understand that the product needs protection during shipping, but the styrofoam is the obnoxious kind that crumbles into thousands of little foam bits. Annoying and messy. Arrived very quickly but unforfunately it was also broken. I look forward to hearing back from the company as the size and quality (other than all the broken dowels on the left hand side of the desk) are exactly what I was looking for. The packing showed no rough handling, was very adequate, and all the hardware components (four screws and an allen wrench) were sucure in the box, so I was pretty surprised to find it broken inside. We'll see how the company handles this situation, I used their "Contact Us" link on their home page to notify them of the damage. I'll post a follow-up (if that is possible???)

should i buy Z-Line Claremont Desk reviews

This desk is even more attractive in person than it is online! The top is smoke colored glass (seems darker to me than the online picture shows) and all the metal pieces have a nice weight and finish to them. The desk arrived well-protected with no damage/defects and no missing parts. Assembly instructions are clear and concise with all parts clearly labeled. Once assembled, the desk seems solid.
This is a nice desk for under $200 compared with what is available at local retailers for a similar price. Highly recommend! I bought this desk for my home office and I must say that I love it. I considered a number of different desks. The first thing that I like about it is that the glass top screws securely to the desk frame. Other desks that I've looked at only have suctions cups to secure the glass top. The glass top is also a smokey color. Which is great. The only thing that I wish was different is that the wood legs were on the front and back. As in the picture, you can see the wood legs. But, when you turn and look at it from the back, you see the black metal legs. It isn't a huge deal, just aesthetic preference.

Assembly wasn't too bad. I put it together by myself in under an hour. The only complaint is that it is difficult to secure the keyboard tray to the frame tightly. Maybe it's just because I'm not mechanically inclined. But, I was able to get it secure enough for my use. This is a good desk. It was relatively easy to assemble, but some parts didn't line up perfectly. Nothing a little pushing didn't fix. The glass was sturdy with no chips. Instructions were very good with well-labeled parts.

The keyboard tray doesn't roll very easily, and it was stuck when I first got it. After the first couple of weeks of use, though, the rolling mechanism has smoothed out to an acceptable point.

It's very attractive with good quality parts. The two wood beams and wood back are real wood, not laminate.

All in all, everything works, looks good, and is of high quality. Other than that, it's a desk. What more do you expect of it?

P.S. Strangely, a card showing off Z-Line's sponsored 2008 Nascar season was inside. The desk was manufactured in August, 2009. That means that when the desk was made, the card was already over a year out of date. Why the hell did they put it in? Really pleased with computer desk. Not difficult to assemble. I would recommend that when you open the different bags of screws that you placed screws on top of the letter numbered bags to identify them much easier. Overall a really nice desk. I have had this desk for about 8 months, and I really like the look of it, but the one thing that absolutely drives me crazy is that the keyboard tray is way too small. It barely fits a standard sized keyboard and a mouse. I have to tuck the side of the mousepad underneath the keyboard just to make it fit. This is a great and sturdy desk. it blends in really nice and has plent of room. I would have liked to have a glass keyboard shelf instead of the metal but its more for cosmetic. great deask and great price. I give this desk a 5-star rating. Best computer desk I've ever owned. Plus, it gets compliments from the ladies on a regular basis. Bonus!

- Extremely easy to put together. All pieces are labeled with letters and numbers which are clearly written out and shown in the pictures. Each screw has it's own individually labeled bag, so you don't have to rummage through one bag trying to match with a picture. Allen wrenches and phillips/flathead screwdrivers included. Extra screws included in a red bag, just in case. Pieces lined up EXACTLY like they are supposed to, which is rare in the world of computer desks. Took a little under an hour from start to finish. Regardless, some people will have trouble putting ANYTHING together.

- Keyboard tray can't really be used with both keyboard AND mouse comfortably. I personally never use a keyboard tray anyway since I game a lot and it has just never felt right for that purpose. If you type a lot and don't play games, it's great. You can leave it off if you like as well. I personally use it for storing things that would otherwise clutter the top of my desk.

- Glass top shows everything. If you don't clean often, stick with wood. Also, I suggest using a keyboard with a wristpad if you want to avoid palm smudges, even with the keyboard tray since it's glossy and shows smudges easily. I am pleased to write that I am very content with the quality of this desk. The surface area is large enough to accommodate a large computer tower (Raven 2) and a 23" to 27" monitor with separate speakers. It's very attractive, well designed, and the instructions are well laid out. No flaws were noticed during the assembly. Highly recommended. Here are the few cons:
-The directions are vague and unclear. For a few parts you literally have to stare at the pictures for the tiniest details to see which way something should be screwed on. Also, it is written where at the end of say step 3 it states not to tighten the screws fully during step 1-3, but by that point unless you read ahead you have already done so!
-The slide out keyboard area is kind of small and somewhat rigid.

The pros:
-It looks really good. The picture does not do it justice at all, I mean it looks really sleek the glass is smoky dark and altogether it just makes my whole room come together nicely.
-It has a nice wire hiding system in the back to keep everything looking simple.
-It is very space effecient for your legs, I am 5'11 220lbs and I sit comfortably.
-It is a perfect surface area, currently I have a 23 inch monitor, a compact wireless printer, and a 5x7 picture frame sitting on it and it does not look cluttered at all.
-It is honestly way better value then other desks in this price range. I shopped around at Ikea and a few other places where you can get lower priced furniture and I did not like much,(I risked it with this and I am so happy I did).
-I spend a lot of time at my desk for both work and gaming sometimes for 6 or 7 hours straight and I am really satisfied.

Basically, the desk is just hard to put together and could be a bit better designed for the keyboard slide out. However, it is so amazing in all other aspects that I still had to give it 5 stars. The annoying directions can be overcome with time and patience, but once it is all put together you wont be dissapointed.
I consider this desk an overall great buy. It is very attractive and sleek looking, especially if paired with black electronics.

Pros: The desk is very solidly built, no wobbling. The top glass piece is thick and nicely and uniformly clouded. There is a lot of room for your legs underneath the desk. It is much cheaper than other desks of comparable quality. The glass is very well protected in the box it comes in.It looks better in person than in the pictures. The wood is real, not laminate. The glass is thin and nice looking. The overall appearance is of great quality.Assembly was not too difficult... twenty minutes and all tools were included. That said the steel arms that support the front do flex up and down and do not fit tighly into place so it jiggles and moves when touched strongly or bumped into. Otherwise I like it a great deal. This is a great, elegant desk that has made a great addition to my apartment. The work area is more than sufficient for my laptop, external monitor and a few other things. While I don't use the keyboard tray for a keyboard, it has been pretty convenient as a writing surface (you can even put a few pictures on it since the top of the desk is transparent).

Overall, couldn't ask for much more. It doesn't take up any more room than it should, there's plenty of space for my office chair and a little trash can, and the design keeps me motivated (didn't realize how big of an impact that would be). It's more expensive than your standard-issue Ikea desks but I think it's worth it for aesthetics alone. A great desk if you're going for a minimalist/modern look. The components are sturdy and sleek.

The keyboard tray is a bit narrow, some people might have difficulty fitting both a full size keyboard and a mouse. Fortunately, I do not care for keyboard trays, and removing it is simple. It also doesn't look incomplete without it.

What are you getting? Well, first off, it is supremely easy to assemble, so no worries there. It isnt very large at all, so depending on your needs, this could pretty much fit anywhere you need it to in your home. I bought it for my girlfriend to have something fairly small and simple for her laptop when we are in our living room. It looks pretty nice in a minimalist sort of way. So, those are the basics. The two little drawers you see in the picture...those arent actually drawers per se. They are actually cloth bins that fit in those slots. The picture is a bit misleading in this regard. Also, i wouldnt call this desk unstable, but i wouldnt treat it too roughly either. It isnt very heavy, and i question its durability if you were to really put it to the test. The only other thing i would say is that if you are a bit larger (like me for example at 6'4" tall), this desk is decidedly not for you. For my girlfriend who is 5'6", the size is perfect. So, when considering this desk, take these two things into account: your size and how durable do you really need it to be.
Anyways, i dont feel like you can go wrong as long as you know what you are getting going in, so if this seems like it will work for you based on that criteria, then i definitely recommend this desk overall.
Enjoy! I needed a small desk to suit my needs. I found this desk here on Amazon.

Great price and look; so after reading the reviews, I bought it.

The instructions were horrible. It took about an hour an a half to put together. It shouldn't of taken that long but none of the parts were marked as they are in the instructions (ie. piece A, B, C and so on). I got all the parts in the mail but the company should of marked each piece with a sticker saying this is A, B, etc. The instructions were also in black and white, so naturally the ink for the pictures of the screws and such were kind of blotchy. But, regardless I was able to piece it together.

Secondly, while I am at the desk right now, writing this review, it IS kind of small. Smaller than I thought it was going to be. I don't mind a small desk but this is kind of for a kid of maybe a little person. It's also kind of wobbly, but that's just from the poofy carpet in my room, I'm sure. As for its size, there is a review on here by a guy stating he's 6'4 and his girlfriend is 5'6 and how it is much more suitable for her. He's completely right. I'm 5'9 and of medium build and even for me, the desk is kind of small. BUT as the title states, it serves its purpose. Definitely great for students, super easy to put together as long as you follow the directions. It was a little bit smaller than I expected, but for the price, you really can't beat it. It does it's job. The drawers are cloth, but after reading the other reviews, it was expected. But overall super awesome product, and it didn't even take two days to arrive. Misleading by many 4-5 star rate.
The killer fact is 11.5" width of two main vertical side board. 28.5" high makes table easy to fall down. The top only 15.5" so many people said it is small.
It only use 4 lock in screw. All other screws use wood screw. It should use lock in screw in all places for last long and can de-assemble when needed.
The instruction graph does not match the real parts.
The side round support post bottom is not at same level as vertical boards. You need stick something to make it touch the ground.
Unless you are limited by space do not buy this one. This table looked very nice and small. I just moved to a very small room to save money until I finish school. So this table seemed like a nice solution. However, I must say, I was a little disappointed after I was done assembling it. It worries me a little to have my 21.5" iMac on it. Oh btw, do not make the mistake of getting this table if you're planning on using it for a desktop machine. Thankfully, Apple wireless keyboards are tiny. So I think I'll live. And it's too much of a hassle to return it now. The drawers come in cloth, which is fine except the fact that they can get dusty/dirty very quick. One last complain; due to its small size there's not enough space to slide in your computer chair below the table once you're done using it. In a typical NYC apartment, every inch counts. An FYI, the table does NOT look like the feature image here. You'll see the shelves on the left side of the table, but they are actually on the right side as you'll see in the other pictures.

In conclusion, it's a fair price for a table like this. I'll update my review if anything goes wrong since I just installed it last night. But so far, it looks really nice, it was a fairly simple installation process (only a screwdrive and hammer required). And the best part, it doesn't take a lot of space. If you can afford the space and are shopping an adult, I'd say look elsewhere.I bought this desk for my 11 year old daughter, and she really likes it. It is just the right size for homework and for a laptop. I put it together without too much trouble (although the pictures on the instruction sheet did not match the instructions). It is a little wobbly to me, but doesn't give her any trouble, being up against a wall. We picked this desk because of the price, and it is worth that price compared to other desks. This was the worst purchase I have ever had an experience with all the way from beginning to end. Upon delivery, the OUTER box was pretty much open already by the time it got to me. The tape had fallen off and the box was crushed and therefore very difficult to carry. Upon opening the box and the box it contained and emptying it on to my floor I found that there was no plastic bag to contain the numerous screws, pins and other odds and ends. They rolled around the entire floor causing a hazard for my dog. I was then thrilled to find after collecting all of the pieces that they had only sent me half the number of dowels, 1 out of 4 pins, 9/12 screws and they left out the insert that allows me to connect the legs to the table top. I ordered this table because it was small and I needed to convert a bedroom into a home office for a week. I am SEVERELY disappointed. I now have a desk I only needed for a week sitting upside down in the living room unfinished, nor can I take it apart because after screwing in the first mid-beam the screws are free-spinning in the particle-board and will now com out. I don't normally write reviews but this was the ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE i have had with an online purchase ever. I certainly wish I could take away stars from other reviews and at least give mine 0. DO NOT BUY!Okay, the laptop desk, at a price under $50. What are you getting? Enjoy! This is my first interview on this site, but honestly I felt compelled to post because I love this product. I was searching EVERYWHERE for the perfect solution for my tiny space woes. I was looking for a cheap desk that I could convert into a craft desk with a cubby. I got this desk and the two tier shelving unit.

The items shipped with almost lightning speed! The desk took a little bit of forward thinking, and it is a little confusing instructions wise to put this thing together, but once I realized how it worked, I put the desk together, no problem. It's pretty sturdy for laminate. I can fit my laptop on it no issues and still have ample space. Now, my laptop isn't huge, and of course if you're looking for a desk to harbor all your technical wonders, this may not be the ticket. But it suits my needs perfectly! What I would suggest, for those with little space, wanting do create an l shaped workspace like I did, get a fold out tv tray table (like those from target that are really cheap), and stick that in the corner of the room. then have the desk next to and and the two tier shelving unit on the other side and you have a pretty good work space for a smaller room. Or perhaps even get two desks, or two tier shelving units whichever suits your needs best.

I'm pretty excited about my new workspace on a budget! Sure, it's no Mona Lisa, but it's cost effective, cute and for the price, one can't grumble. Just remember, don't expect something luxury on the cheap. It's simple, holds my crafting materials, and I've put my own stamp on it by decoupaging colorful and busy patterned wrapping paper onto it.

All in all, I'm very impressed. I knew exactly what I wanted and needed, and made sure everything would fit by measuring first, and it has definitely exceeded my expectations. But then again, I'm pretty easy to please! As long as it works and isn't too fancy, I'm happy. And I cannot fault the company at all for their service. So if you know what you want and need, and have a small budget and area, this could very well be something you should consider. If you have a heavy desktop and require a lot of space for printers and the like, I'd suggest something more heavy duty. Bottom line: Don't expect miracles for a low price. This desk is amazingly sturdy for it's size. Even though the dimensions were given, I was still taken aback a little by the teeny tiny-ness of it. I also ordered the bookcase, so I think together they'll make a decent work area. I think this desk really probably would only work for someone who only needs something on which to either write or place your small footprint computer (I have an all-in-one) or laptop. You won't have space to do more than one task. My keyboard and mouse barely fit. As that was my mistake for not visualizing the size correctly, I didn't take off any stars for that. I did, however, take off a star for the directions. They're horrible! There weren't any labels on the parts and the pictures in the instructions weren't even very clear. After spending an hour putting it together, I realized that I had the left and right sides switched. That meant in order to put on the shelves, I'd have to take it totally apart and start over! I wasn't in the mood for giving this project another hour of my life, so I just left the shelves off. I'm going to re-do this weekend, but not happy about the prospect. I'm pretty adept with putting furniture together, so I know it wasn't a user issue. I'd advise organizing your pieces before you start. If you have the space, I'd recommend you get something else. If you don't, this is probably a good option. Look at the picture, and realize that a keyboard takes up two thirds of entire desk area. Keyboards are small. This is not good for computers, or books, or studying, or doing work. It is only good as a bedside table. Get a real desk if that is your need. Good desks aren't sold for under 50 dollars, anywhere. I just got this desk yesterday and i have it all put together. The instuctions could have been ALOT more clear!it looks good but the sides that are suppose to face the wall are not sanded and stained which i did not realize so i have 2 backwards pieces and i already glued it so im stuck with my shelves on the left hand side, which i can get used to but the unsanded side of the drawer piece is on the showing side which kinda sucks but the chair covers that.just be cautions when putting it together make sure all the pieces are faceing the same way and really look at them.and it is not too small,i love it its perfect fit for my laptop and when i start doing homework this fall.if the instucktions where more clear itd be alot better and easliy put together.and there shud also be alot better packageing with stuffing and what not because there were a few dints and scractes because it is just all the pieces on top of eachother in a box inside another box and there shud be protective stuff between each piece and maybe some stuffing just incase the mailman dosent handle it with care. overall good for the price but i would perferr to pay a few extra bucks for better instuctions and packageing.Desk itself works fine, i like it. But my girlfriend get cut pretty bad by
90 degree edge on the one side of the desk.
tell the manufacture get a round design on the edges. that's why i gave one star

should i buy South Shore Axess Collection reviews

This desk is the perfect answer to organizing clutter in your childs room. It features a compact design that includes space for everything needed for schoolwork and projects. A low hutch offers shelving for books or keepsakes, and the spacious desktop offers plenty of room to spread out homework or house a laptop. Underneath, a shelf keeps a computer keyboard ready for use until it is needed. Flexible storage options include a drawer and 2 open shelves that offer room for a CPU, writing supplies and paper. Partially open back for wire management. This desk has been designed to perfectly match any South Shore Furniture item in Chocolate or espresso finishes. Made of recycled CARB compliant particle panels, this bookcase has to be assembled by two adults. Measures 42 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 36.75 inches high. It is delivered in one box measuring 44 inches by 22 inches by 7 inches and weighs 85 pounds. Tools are not included. 5 year warranty. Made in Mexico. First of all, I bought 2 of these. We wanted matching desks for my husband and I in the living room. We paid around $89 each in January 2011. When first removing the parts, I thought we had a great desk, the wood is a little thicker than other desks made this way. I was a little disappointed by the plastic dowels that help hold the pieces together. Most manufactuers use wooden dowels. I was also disappointed with the plastic drawer slides on the drawer. These are 100% plastic with plastic tabs that you lightly hammer into the wood. Each piece (there are 4, 2 on the desk and 2 on the drawer) only has 1 screw to help hold it in place. You tap in these plastic pieces about 1/2 way though the construction, by the time I got to the very end to put the drawer into the desk, these had popped out about 1/2 way, so I had to grab the hammer and tap them back in in order to get the drawer into place. My biggest disappointment would be that nice shelf that runs along the back of the whole desk. This DOES NOT screw down at all. It has 4 of the above mentioned plastic dowels and basically sits right on top of the desk. There are very shallow holes on the top of the desk for the plastic dowels to sit into. You can very easily knock the entire thing off. This would explain why they don't show the monitor on that shelf in the pictures.... I'm not sure why they designed it this way, there is ample room for them to install some cam locks and screws and attach it to the desk more securely. Also, be sure to check your pieces, one desk was missing 2 cam locks, the other was missing 3!

As far as the instructions go, some pieces were not marked as other reviewers have said. Also, it does not tell you which way to have the finished edge facing, so you're not putting things on backwards, when applicaple. You need to pay attention to that. Othewise, I didn't feel that the instructions were hard to understand. I put together both desks while making dinner, took about 2 hours in all. I will be posting pictures soon with the above mentioned problems. You'll be able to see then from the product page, where the manufactuer pictures are. Aside from the shelf not being attached to the desk more securely, I really like these desks. The color is great, mine came very well packaged, no damage at all.

Follow up: April 2011. We've had these desks for a few months now and both hold up very well. We do have our monitors on the small shelf I mentioned above and it has not, as of yet, fallen down. We have both desks back to back, so there really is no way to accidentally hit the shelf and cause it to fall, like I feared would happen. All together a very nice little desk.
This was a great buy for me and so far I am very pleased with the purchase. I think the desk looks like youve spent alot more. The wood is strong and the color is great. It was simple to put together, just a female over here with a few simple tools. Would reccommend this to anyone looking for a great desk at a good price! It is smaller than what I expect but it is as described. I loved the color. The design is cute and the price is affordable for a high quality wood. It is a strong wood that does not get scratched quickly. It is perfect for small rooms to save space. It could be used by adults, teenagers, and children. It is small but somehow I like it and I would recommend it. The package it is in is so flimsy that anyone who moves it will rip a hole in it. It was a hole in it when I got it. I kept it because once you open the box you can't repackage it so returning would mean buying a box to put it in. Luckingly for me, the damaged part was in a place no one can really see. This is beautifully crafted and looks just like the picture. It has ample space for all your office supplies it is very sturdy and easy to put together. For the price you cannot find a better desk. It looks great in my office!

should i buy Computer Desk Bed Tray Book Stand Ergonomics Design reviews

I give it a relatively high rating of 3 stars because I didn't expect much for $23 + shipping, so I feel a lower rating would be unfair. Brand new out of the box: the unvarnished wood is rough and splintery, if you handle the contraption even slightly rough, it'll fall apart, being very cheaply and hastily constructed...

So handy, I immediately began making my own modifications to it. The drawer on the side was so small it'd barely hold a pencil, so I removed it and made another one from scratch on my friend's table saw. My new drawer is longer, wider, and twice as deep, roughly tripling the interior storage volume of the original (now I can store my computer mouse in it when not in use). The screws attaching the legs to the table top are too long, so they don't screw them in all the way, making the lower portion loose. I tightened the screws and their tips pierced the top surface of the table top. The manufacturer can't be bothered to procure 1/4" shorter screws to avoid this? I removed them, cut them shorter, screwed them back in, TIGHT. The little cleat that holds your laptop from sliding off when you tilt the desk wants to break off and worst of all, the leg that props the tilting desk up looks like it's going to break off any moment, possibly damaging my computer in the fall. Will be reinforced by me. They are next on my todo list.

Unrelated to the quality of the desk, I attached pockets to the underside of the tilting portion of the desk: the pockets secure mini portable hard disk drives hooked up to the laptop directly above them, yet remain out-of-sight-out-of-mind, and both laptop and drives remain cool, now well ventilated being up off my lap and/or bed blankets. I wish I'd gotten a lap desk like this years ago. Seeing how simple it's construction is, I am already brainstorming my own custom desk to be built from scratch. I love poorly made products. They give me so many ideas.Summery: the item was as described. But where in the description will any seller say "breaks/comes a part easily!" The first day used, got splinters and later that evening the part with venting whole came undone and I had to assemble them together...and have been doing so over and over again until I bought a Gorilla Super glue.Well, I read the reviews and knew the risk, but I was really unprepared for the absolute horrible construction and finishing on this item. The quality is absolutely horrible. It looks like a member of the local JR High woodworking class constructed this thing in a dark basement using homemade Lincoln Logs (that they made themselves) out of fireplace kindling without the benefit of sandpaper, a chisel or the benefit of eyesight.

The "lattice" table top is unevenly glued and not sanded at all, so there splinters everywhere. Each side is rough and unsanded, the wood has divots and chunks everywhere, and in two places where wood or edges splintered, the seller re-glued them unevenly, thereby creating a sharp jagged point to catch fabric and skin.

The kickstand used to prop the table top up is more flimsy than a table leg constructed out of Popsicle sticks--- and I could go on and on. Virtually every element of construction is flawed, horrible and at times injurious.

EDIT: OH and the little "bar" that should prop your laptop up when the table top is tilted? they assembled the stupid table top backwards, so that it is located at the top of my table and serves no useful purpose at all.

I ordered this so I could get some work done while flat on my back with muscle spasms, and it was impossible to use without fear of injury. A family member attempted to sand it down for me and paint it with gloss and lacquer, just to make it serviceable, but it is still looks horrible.

I should have paid the extra $10 and got the more expensive item made out of bamboo. And so should you- honestly. Buy this item if you are handy with glue and painting. Or buy something that is really finished project

Techni Mobili Modern Computer Desk with media and storage shelves. Work area provides plenty of space, made of MDF it is covered by a laminate PVC surface, desk includes a large keyboard panel with safety stop , side media vertical rack, storage shelves on both sides, elevated printer shelf and bottom CPU panel. Ready and easy to assemble. 5 Years Mfg. Warranty. This is the worst design and engineering I have ever seen. The pieces look good and sturdy by themselves but when you try to put them together everything goes to the dogs. All of the pieces are held together by nothing but 27 locking bolts and connecters or cams. Most of the connecters won't lock into place properly but the worst part is that the bolts are only screwed 5/16" deep into cheap plastic inserts in the panels. This provides NO structural strength at all. The slightest movement and the bolts rip out of the threads. Adding some wood dowels would probably solve the problem. I've put together countless pieces of office furniture in the past and I've never seen anything this poorly made. All of this being said, customer service at RTA Products is very good. If you have missing or broken pieces they're very quick to send out replacements under warranty. Great desk for the price. Plenty of space. Easy to put together. Did have to return desk top since it was damaged when I received it. Exchanging was very easy. Received new desktop within 5 days of original package! Thanks to Amazon for having such a great selection of different items. I just purchaded thid computer desk and I could not be more satisfy. I could fit my printer, hard drive,a rack for my cds and space for other stuff. It is not to big or to small but just right for the space that I have. I have been to different store looking for the right desk but nothing caught my eye either they were to high or to big . so I went to Amazon and sure enough I found just what I was looking for. I highly recommend this desk for the quality, size and price which is very inexpensive. This product is well made.it was very easy to setup. And bigger than I expected. It has a very expensive look.
its very spacious and well made.
Im pleased with the product. It arrived 2 days before, earlier...
Thanks Very bad quiality computer desk, the screws between the panes are very loose, after few weeks of use it is falling apart. I received the item on time and it was easy to assemble. I love it and will recommend someone to go for it. I love this desk. It wasnt as big as I had hoped but it works :) Doesnt look cheap at all. Good buy. It took me a few hours to assemble this desk (because I was doing it by myself) but it was a "fun" project and at the end I was very pleased with the instructions and the over all looks of my desk. Highly recommend!!! All excited when I recieved this product. Assembly was ery easy, took about 1 1/2 hrs to put together.I really took my time. Once I finished, the desk was gourgeous. Simply loved it. Great desk for the price. Plenty of space. Easy to put together. Did have to return desk top since it was damaged when I received it. Exchanging was very easy. Received new desktop within 5 days of original package! It probably can't be beat for $109.

I had no problems with putting it together and it is sturdy when finished.

My biggest problem was you have to be really careful putting some parts through the holes or you will tear the laminate off. Missing screws, the screw clasps didn't work and the entire thing was loose. It's basically unusable. I lost my money from the entire purchase. I'm now buying another computer desk, but in this case I'm focusing on something metal or aluminum and hoping for the best. This is the worst design and engineering I have ever seen. The pieces look good and sturdy by themselves but when you try to put them together everything goes to the dogs. All of the pieces are held together by nothing but 27 locking bolts and connecters or cams. If you have missing or broken pieces they're very quick to send out replacements under warranty. The desk is sturdy, and was relatively straightforward to put together. It took me a little over an hour to assemble, which isn't bad considering how many pieces there were, but it would have gone more quickly if the instructions had been clearer in places. The various shelves and storage spaces are exactly what I was looking for, and I'm very happy with what I got for the price. However, I wouldn't pay what they're asking on other sites.

The materials are, bluntly, cheap crap. I had to practically break several of the cams to keep them from immediately loosening, and every one of them had bits of metal flaking off. Incidentally, you'll also want to use your own screwdriver--the one provided isn't long enough to get much torque. The actual boards seem strong enough to do the job, but the 'chocolate' laminate was physically lifting away around some of the screw holes, so I expect it to start peeling sooner or later. The solution for supporting the middle shelf on the right side of the unit was also disappointing: an extra cam screw shoved into a hole in the metal bar.

All that said, the desk actually is sturdy now that it's in one piece, and I expect to get a lot of good use out of it. If you're looking for something cheap with a lot of interesting storage space, and are willing to sacrifice on quality, this is what you're looking for. i was extremely excited to get this desk! i didnt have to wait long for it to arrive on my doorstep and i drug it into the house with a huge smile on my face! then i opened the package and started assembling it...while the pieces were super strong and an absolutely gorgeous color-putting this desk together was more than a challenge! there were HOLES MISSING!! like the desk top went through the factory and it missed a step where 4 holes just werent drilled. the holes were for the roll-out keyboard rack which i didnt really care about so i didnt return it...but i probably should have! as i continued to assemble it was wobbling, some of the screws didnt fit in the holes right and now the desk is staying upright by shear gravity! thank goodness for gravity lol! im not sure that i would recommend this desk to anyone but now that its pretty much pieced together and propped up against a wall its very nice...just a bit wonky : /This desk is extraordinary. It gave me the option of not spending that much money and supports my basics needs: Homework, laptop, wireless keyboard and mouse. This desk DID take awhile to set up, but it was definitely worth it! Shipping only took 3-5 business days, and best of all it was free! I love this desk and amazon! Great buy! Thanks to Amazon for having such a great selection of different items.
