should i buy Sauder Office Beginnings Wood reviews

Built with exacting detail and available in several popular finishes. The Beginnings174; line is a fresh concept - good looking furniture at a great value that does the job in any setting. Perfect for new businesses, young people, kids' rooms, basements, or anywhere that requires an affordable solution. Features: Elevated monitor , printer shelf. Slide-out keyboard , mouse shelf with metal runners and safety stops. Dedicated CPU stand storage for vertical tower. Hidden enclosed storage behind door. Cinnamon Cherry finish. CPU opening: W:9 3,8" (23.8cm) D:15 1,2" (39.4cm) H:20 1,8" (51.2cm) This desk is perfect if you are looking for an attractive desk that fits in a small space yet remains functional. The raised portion of the desk can be used for computer peripherals (monitor or printer, etc) while the main desk space can hold several open notebooks for those long study sessions. The side platform was perfect for my Dell 3000 tower. The color is splendidly dark, almost espresso. My husband bought a larger desk from the brand Realspace in the same color (cinnamon cherry) and the two desks match perfectly.

My only complaints would be the following: 1) While assembly was relatively easy, I did need my husband to help with the construction of the raised platform, simply because a second pair of hands was needed due to the slightly awkward arrangement. 2) I prefer to type with my hands on the keyboard while the keyboard drawer is not pulled out. I can't do this with this desk simply because the keyboard drawer is too close against the desk.

My desk was missing one piece (the washer for the bottom door) but once I reported this to the seller, I received the missing piece within the next week. Excellent customer service!Nice piece of furniture for the price. Assembly was pretty straightforward, took one person.
However, once put together, I notice the corners are a little sharp, so I have to be careful when my baby tries to reach for things kept on it. Otherwise, very satisfied.I can't believe this desk is so cheaply priced. It is a quality piece of furniture and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Arrived quickly and undamaged and went together easily Exactly as promised and easy to put together. Only time will tell, of course, but so far I am very much in love with this piece! My only small complaint would be that some of the screw covers didn't go on as well as I'd hoped -- would actually have preferred stickers to the push-in ones. Shipped promptly. Great Instructions. I assembled the whole thing in less than an hour with one Phillips-head screwdriver. It's nice, sturdy & fits nicely in a corner. Even with a printer and flat-screen monitor I still have ample space to write. We bought this desk to be used for a computer set up for our young grandchildren. Space in the room was tight so size was important and still having a good sturdy product. This desk worked wonderfully and is of nice quality at a nice price..I bought the lighter Pecan version of this at the local home improvement store when it was on sale for less than 2/3 of the price listed here. Over the years I've become an expert at build-it-yourself furniture, so the assembly was very straightforward except for the elevated shelf. It helped to have a couple of pieces of styrofoam to balance things out when assembling it. The unit is very sturdy once it is together and had enough room to hold my Canon scanner on the elevated shelf.

In my opinion the best thing about this desk is the keyboard shelf that locks in place so it doesn't slide all over the place as you are typing. I can't tell you how many other computer desks I have had that were so aggravating because they did not have this feature. I would definitely recommend this desk to anyone who needs a computer desk for a smaller space. This one replaced my Z-Line Pacific Compact Computer desk in less space, for less money and in a much better configuration. First and foremost, this desk is worth it. The instructions are easy to follow (contrary to other reviews), the product is thought out, assembly methods are simple, and it looks great.

The product overall:
-Nice looks! The desk is darker than pictured, and fits right in with any black furniture.
-Height is great. From other reviews, I thought this would be a bit on the short side. It's not--in fact, it's taller than my main desk! My rolling desk chair fits perfectly under it.
-Construction is sturdy in my opinion. I notice absolutely no wobbling between the panels, even when I apply a substantial force to a corner.
-Fairly stable. While it does wobble back and forth more than my other desk, I think this is mostly due to my other desk having more weight on it.

Assembly:
-Directions are good! Nice diagrams.
-Assembly is fast. I'm handy the handy type; it took me 1.25 hours to do it without any help.
-Twist this, screw in that, hammer these tiny nails... very easy assembly methods

I only have three complaints.
-There's this keyboard cord holder on the keyboard shelf which is supposed to fit in a drilled hole. I don't intend to use a keyboard nor do I want a hole in my slide-out shelf.
-As others have noted the edges are kind of sharp. That said I would still buy this again having experienced it firsthand--it's not too bad and there's no other desks in the quality and price range that have beveled front edges.
-The finish on two of my panels is messed up. It's not scuffed, but more due to a manufacturing defect I'd say. Looks like I'll be pulling out the ol' sharpie for a bit of touch up work. I decided to look up this desk on amazon as I've been using it for over a year now and love it. I bought it from walmart for about $50, mine came in black. Assembly was fairly simple and it's sturdy. My only complaint is that the rail for the drawer used to come out alot, the screws fell out frequently. I decided to replace the screws on the left side with some of my own. took me a hour to build but man does it look good better then what i expected but with the price i dont know i found this same table 15 bucks less at big lots lol sucks for me but non the less it was a great buy This is a really nice desk, especially for the price.
The desk is a basic but attractive design (which I think would fit well with almost any decor) and it's very, very sturdy. It was easy to put together, too, which is a huge plus.
The corner hutch/elevated shelf is large enough for a printer (I chose to put my monitor on the hutch/elevated shelf so my monitor is at eye level) and the cabinet below the CPU tower storage area is nice for storing CDs and printer paper. This is a nice little desk for a small room. This desk is also sturdy if you build it properly. Its engineered with a pc in mind, but I have a mac so i just use the extra compartments for storing stuff. I wish it came in different colors.

should i buy Sauder Computer Desk reviews

Slide-out keyboard/mouse shelf with metal runners and safety stops. Storage area behind door holds vertical CPU tower and has an adjustable shelf. Two drawers with metal runners and safety stops; file drawer holds letter or European size hanging files. Desk top grommet hole for electrical cord access. Quick and easy assembly with patented T-slot drawer assembly. Brushed Maple finish. This is a great desk. I ordered it for my husband to use in his home office at our new home. Sadly, a similar one (also from Sauder) which was already assembled and used for many years, would not fit through the door of the office we were using at a temporary location. The movers (grrrr...) refused to disassemble it and abandoned it in our back yard. We immediately had a rain storm (of course). Everything else & all our boxes were inside, safe and dry, but the desk was ruined. The Sauder products come with clear, detailed instructions for assembly, and once assembled will last longer than you will, probably, but just don't let them get wet. It stayed outside and eventually just fell apart. I tried to keep it covered w/ an old shower curtain liner, but it always blew off w/ the wind. Hurricane Irene did it in!

So, after we got settled at our new address, my husband was still desk-less. The desk was shipped quickly (unassembled, of course) and the delivery man left it leaning against the side of our house. The thing was sooooo heavy that my husband and I had to carefully "walk" the box into the house. It was really too heavy for us to lift, so unless you're a weight-lifter, don't plan on tackling this by yourself. You might want to borrow a hand truck and enlist the help of a neighbor if you live alone.

We managed to get it inside and my husband assembled it. There are lots of different screws, etc, and the process was made easier by following the instructions to sort all the various pieces of hardware by type FIRST, before doing anything else. He used a clear tackle box for sorting the hardware. It made the task of assembly go much smoother.
This desk arrived quickly, the box was very heavy and my husband doesn't like putting things together so I had to do it myself. I've been searching for a desk for a while but haven't been able to find anything that matches my style. Most of the desks I really liked were over $1,000 and the cheaper ones were ugly looking. I love how modern this desk looks and how practical it is. This desk is stylish but extremely affordable. I was concerned that the price would mean that the product would be flimsy but it is not. It did take about 3 hours to assemble by myself. I think if my husband could've helped me, it would've taken half the time. The instructions that came with the product were awesome. I hate when the instructions are just pictures with no explanation. These instructions actually had video online you could watch, though I didn't use that feature. The one thing I love about this desk is it's color and the straight lines lines. I struggled with some parts of the assembly like getting the drawers on straight so they lined up together. I had to redo that a few times. The instructions said not to use an electrical drill but I did anyway and I think it was fine. The desk looks much smaller in the picture and it was larger than expected. The top has a lot of room and now our printer is on the desk, when before we had to put it on a small table beside our other desk. This is the best desk! Buy it but set aside a lot of time to put it together and really follow the instructions carefully.
Parts do not fit perfectly. Easy to scratch. Relatively small opening for the cables in the back of the PC case compartment. Otherwise a good product for the price we paid. should i buy SEI Mission Brown-Mahogany reviews

Blending traditional appeal with updated features designed for today's busy lifestyle, this handsome computer desk furnishes a stately presence sure to elevate any living space. The Mission-style unit's durable birch-veneer desktop sits upon solid Asian-hardwood legs and glows with a rich brown-mahogany finish, while its recessed paneling and post-style legs lend a sense of classic refinement. Small, medium, and large drawers occupy the desk's right storage area, offering generous space for writing utensils, books, office supplies, and other work or study essentials. The desk's left side also provides a small utensil drawer, as well as a larger cupboard perfect for concealing a computer's CPU. Best of all, the desk's foldout keyboard tray supplies a comfortable and ergonomic place for a keyboard and mouse, and it closes neatly out of the way when not in use. Authentic black metal knocker-style handles and beautiful trim work complete the attractive desk, which requires some assembly and measures 23-3/4 by 47-3/4 by 30-1/4 inches.
Finished in brown mahogany and constructed with traditional mission styling, this desk is sure to enhance any room. Multiple drawers combine with a large cabinet to make this desk the perfect solution for cleaning up your cluttered work area. The right side features three drawers that get progressively larger from the top down ending with a deep drawer with storage for larger items. On the left a small storage drawer, perfect for pens and accessories, sits directly above the cabinet that is perfect for holding your computer tower or other large items. Lastly, the keystone of this desk is the slide out keyboard drawer with fold down face over the seating area that provides easy typing access or additional storage. Crafted with solid Asian hardwood legs and durable birch veneer ensures many years of use and beauty. - 47.75" x 23.75" x 30.25" Tall - Brown Mahogany Finish - Slide out keyboard drawer - Left side cabinet to hold computer tower - Black metal "knocker" handles - Assembly required This desk is a nice product. It comes well-packed and well-labeled. Assembly is not difficult, but you will want to take your time and follow directions carefully - lots of little pieces! I would not want to put this together without a cordless drill/screwdriver. Attractive and functional desk, good value.
The biggest downside to buying furniture online is you that you really don't see what you're getting. Notice the description: SEI Mission Brown Mahogany computer desk. Did it say dark cherry red anywhere in that description? Look at the picture. Does it look like dark cherry red? But that is exactly what I have. That's fine and dandy if you only have one piece of furniture in your study. But not cool if you're trying to match the color of existing furniture. Having invested all this time assembling the desk, I have decided to keep it.

Having said all that, it is a stylish piece of furniture and attractively priced by Amazon. If the color came in as described I would rate it about a 4 or 5. Working alone, it takes patience in putting the desk together. You'll need about two afternoons and knee pads (if you don't have them already). The finish was sturdy enough not to scratch while I was putting it together on a ceramic tile floor. There was a bottom brace missing on figure 6 but it was structurally insignificant. The only tool mentioned was a no. 2 phillips and it was really all I needed.

I thought the assembly went well (although in the back of mind was a review on how hard it was to put together). People have different skill levels. My lesson learned was to inspect the product not only for scratches and missing parts before you start working on it. Inspect the color too!
After assembly this desk looks great. It has a solid wood and quality look to it. I like using the desk too.

The color is dark reddish cherry -- not mahogany. People need to know this and the manufacturer should really call it a cherry desk in my opinion.

The problem is the quality of the veneering and finish. It didn't take long to start seeing this. I have a large leather desk pad on top the desk and am careful to always keep it flush or a bit overhanging on the front. After just a few months of using the desk a few hours per day, I can already see the finish wearing off and can actually see where the veneers meet on the front edge of the top. This is a bit disheartening. I don't know what the future holds but that is a problem. The finish scratches off of the desk very easily. I believe all they did was paint a stain/poly combination on the desk. One coat without a protective coat. I am thinking about applying a protective coat of satin polyurethane to help protect it.

The bottom drawer on my desk does not fit into the opening exactly perfectly. It will open and close without a problem but I notice the imperfection in workmanship. This desk looks great - though the color is a bit more cherry than the picture indicates (which I liked). The assembly was not difficult, but very time consuming. I'm very mechanically inclined, and it still took over 2 hours. I can't imagine my wife attempting to assemble the thing - it would have ended up firewood. You literally have to assemble every single piece of it - but the end produce is very well built and looks really nice and expensive. Highly recommend. The size of this desk is perfect for my area. I put it together myself. Directions were easy to follow. Step by step. The only problem I had was sliding the drawers into base. I had to ask a fellow in my building to slide them in for me. I don't know if I didn't have the right slant or what. Now that I'm using it I think it's perfect and it really look good also. I also like the color. One of my reasons for selecting this desk was the opening for the tower as I have a desk top computer. Hope this helps some one thinking about this desk. This desk works great for the rather small place we had to put it. It was farily easy to assemble. The only real drawback are the small drawers. If they went back as deep as the desk is, it would be fine; but they only go back about half way, so are pretty small. Other than that it was a great purchase. I really like the finished product, but putting it together was quite difficult especially since some of the drawer parts had the wrong numbers on them. If it weren't for the fact that my husband is quite handy, I would not have figured out the drawers due to the mislabeling. Overall, an attractive looking desk, but a real hassle to assemble. This desk is a nice product. It comes well-packed and well-labeled. Assembly is not difficult, but you will want to take your time and follow directions carefully - lots of little pieces! I would not want to put this together without a cordless drill/screwdriver. should i buy Winsome Wood Computer Desk, Honey reviews

These days, home offices are often as busy as their corporate counterparts--and they need to be equally efficient and organized. Winsome Wood offers a line of modular furniture to supply just that while also presenting a clean, inviting style that blends well with domestic décors. This solid/composite wood computer desk features a large, open workspace accompanied by a pullout keyboard that stows behind the faux drawer front. The Honey finish is warm and casual, and the slender legs keep the overall look light and airy. Add the writing desk, corner table, printer stand, file cabinet, and bookshelf to customize any space. This desk measures 42 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 29 inches high. Assembly is required. After reading the June 8, 2007 review, I was worried about the quality of packaging. When this desk arrived at my front door, I saw that my fears were justified. The package was compact, leaving little room for protective material like bubble wrap. Careless handling might have caused some damage. Fortunately, my desk arrived in perfect condition. The legs, desk top, and keyboard tray were all wrapped to protect against scratches.

This is one of the few products not made in China. It was made in Thailand.

The wrench needed to attach the legs was included, and I used my Phillips screwdriver to screw on the front knob. The magnets are too powerful, making it difficult to pull open the keyboard compartment. I solved that problem by placing four pieces of transparent packing tape over the magnets. All told, including the taping, assembly took me around 40 minutes.

The legs, tray and desk top are all made of beautifully finished solid hardwood with a reddish blonde color. The tray slides in and out smoothly. The style is a bit plain and unadorned, but the quality and functionality are excellent. I'm very pleased with this purchase, especially because the modest price of $130 included free shipping.I bought this desk because I wanted a simple desk that matched the color of my kitchen table. It really is what it is, simple. The design is simple, the assembly is simple. That's not a hit against it because if that's not what you're looking for obviously you wouldn't be looking at this desk.

Anyway, there isn't much to say about it, it's put together well, and it's solid after it's assembled.

As far as the packaging goes, the other people that have reviewed this are spot on correct. The packaging looks like something you'd get from a table you bought at Wal-Mart. This is fine when all you have to do is run it from the store to your house, but it's really inadequate for cross country shipping. There isn't enough give in the packaging to be very forgiving of any mishandling. Luckily mine showed up just fine, but keep that in mind when you order one of these.
Love the desk! Good quality and the only assembly required was putting the legs on. Even the sliding keyboard tray had the "rolling tracks" already together. Highly recommended!
I was a bit sceptical to order this based on some of the reviews but I am glad I did. This desk is solid wood and very nice looking. The desk holds my computer, and printer with room to work. There is also no wobbling at all, this desk is solid and will last. It was fairly easy to put together.

I also ordered the printer stand and the file cabinet to match the set. They all look great although the printer stand did need to be shipped back and amazon sent a new one because their was a large black mark in the wood on the front. Amazon has excellent customer service so this was not much of a problem just a delay in setting everything up.

The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is because I did end up replacing the knobs on the front of the drawers but that was because of personal taste. I wanted to break up the honey color finish so I used bronze colored knobs which look very nice and did the trick. Also, the finish has an orange color to it so if that would not work with your decor you may want to think twice before ordering. However, the wood grain is lovely and I would definately order this again for the quality and price! The desk is a good size, and sturdy. I use it for a laptop on a stand and an external display. Then I have another desk for paper and writing.

However, one piece did arrive broken. Fortunately, it was some of the trim from the front, which I can live without. So in my case, I don't have the keyboard drawer cover installed. Small scale desk with big features. Keyboard drawer adds surface area and makes a narrow desk feel bigger. Great color and finish. Highly recommended. I have a small space to set up a laptop. The dimensions of this computer desk are perfect for a laptop. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse, so the keyboard drawer was a big plus. The height of the desk is great. The assembly was easy - the good stops there.

The top is made of laminated wood and the wood colors are markedly different with dovetails showing. The pre-assembled drawer does not align properly and the width of the drawer is too small and the slide-out drawer wants to drop - so I am going to have to shim the sides of the slide-out drawer track. Installing the shims is fairly easy. For the price, it's ok. I previously purchased a sofa table from Winsome Wood and it is perfect for the use I have for it and so I decided to puchase this desk to replace a ginormous 80's monstrosity. The first desk came damaged but I just sent it back, without drama, and got another one.The new one came faster. It took longer to move the computer on to it than to assemble it. I really like it. It fits perfectly in the new office space. I will consider Winsome Wood if I need any more furniture. I ordered this desk because it was reasonably priced, looked nice from what I could see on the computer, and it's size was perfect for the space I wanted to set up my home office. Desk was shipped and delivered in less than a week using Amazon's Free Shipping. Easy assembly: 8 bolts, 8 washers, and 8 lock type washers. 1 wooden handle for the keyboard drawer, and 1 screw for the handle. Assembly in 20 minutes. I would recommend this to my family and friends. I am moving from a big home to a cottage so I purchased this for my smallhome. I was so happy with product after my son got it together. Looks very nice and even my picky son said it looked well built. I am moving from a big home to a cottage so I purchased this for my smallhome. I was so happy with product after my son got it together. Looks very nice and even my picky son said it looked well built. I know the title sounds like an oxymoron, but it is what it is. I work from home and I just moved to a small apartment. I have an Ikea desk for my work PC and I wanted something for my personal PC. Only I just didn't want two desks next to each other. This table has almost the same dimensions as my work desk and is nice enough to dine on if I need table space.

I agree that the packaging could be a bit better. I had a little dent in the back that doesn't affect the workability of the table. For $119 you can't beat it. I could have spent a little less for a similar table at Ikea, but it would be pressboard versus wood with a lovely finish. Plus, I would have to put together more than just the legs.

I also bought a pair of matching Winsome chairs. Love those, too!
Love the desk! Good quality and the only assembly required was putting the legs on. Even the sliding keyboard tray had the "rolling tracks" already together. Highly recommended!

should i buy New IKEA MICKE Computer Desk reviews

Color: Black-Brown/White Product dimensions Width: 55 7/8 " Depth: 19 5/8 " Height: 29 1/2 " Good to know Always follow the instructions in the manual for chargers and other electronic equipment. Also make sure the power supply is switched off when leaving electronic equipment unattended. Product description Side panel: Particleboard, Fiberboard, Paper, Moisture resistant MDF, Acrylic paint, ABS plastic Partition/ Cable management/ Drawer front: Particleboard, Melamine foil, ABS plastic Rail: Particleboard, Fiberboard, Melamine foil, ABS plastic Supporting leg: Particleboard, Fiberboard, Paper, Moisture resistant MDF, Foil, ABS plastic Leg: Steel, Epoxy/polyester powder coating Drawer bottom: Fiberboard, Acrylic paint Table top: Particleboard, Fiberboard, Paper, Acrylic paint, ABS plastic This product requires basic assembly Good desk. Took me about 30 minutes to assemble and instructions were pretty straight forward. Fits in tight spaces; very minimalistic design, that looks great with dark wood furniture. Perfect for everything I needed. Pretty durable and sturdy as well. All tools are provided except a screw driver to assemble the desk. The only other thing you need is an allen wrench, which they provide.

However I wouldn't buy this desk from this vendor or amazon. Seeing as it's priced at 95 bucks and add in shipping, you're looking around 130 for the final product to your door. If you go to a local Ikea and/or buy it from the ikea website (providing it's in stock) you'll pay 69 bucks. I drove 3 hours to the local one and bought it in Orlando. The amount of gas it took for us to get there was less than buying it off of amazon at nearly double the price after shipping. After having this desk for 5 months i lowered my rating to 4 stars. Apparently using this desk as a computer desk just won't cut it for long time use. My mouse has worn off the brown coating on top of the desk showing a light brown bald spot where i frequent my mouse. Still is standing and working fine, but I'm probably going to have to paint the top now if I want to continue to use it and care about it's looks. I suppose if you guy this desk and then put some sort of covering on top to protect it, then it might be fine. I am classroom teacher in the Los Angles area. I teach high school English. It is no secret, most of the things that we need (computers, desks, textbooks!)are not provided by our school districts. This desk is used every day (laptop, books, attendance sheets...) it is not a superstroNG DESK, but it does the job, and the design is sleek, chic, modern....AND WHAT'S BEST IS THAT THE DESK WAS UNDER 100 BUCKS! you need to assemble the desk. Lucky for me, some of my students are more than eager to assemble the things I buy--great product. The desk as served me for three years now, but as a major flaw. When I installed it on a slightly down curved floor (less then 1/4 of an inch) the middle part of the desk started to detach. After a couple of months, while working both drawers fell, hurting me. You get what you pay for and this desk was very cheap. I am so embarrassed by the tacky look of it, I am heading out to buy a replacement desk and then burn this one. This is after spending about four hours putting it together. If I hadn't had a cordless screwdriver, it would probably have been four days. There are that many parts. I am a fan of a lot of Ikea products but this isn't one of them. Also, the packaging looked like it went through a train wreck and the product was chipped and scratched as a result. Especially on the corners. Very great look & space conserving! Installation is not difficult, maybe 2 out of 5 for difficulty. Ships very fast, packaged very well. Product isn't light. Wouldn't recommend building alone but I did with no problems. :) The desk as served me for three years now, but as a major flaw. Lucky for me, some of my students are more than eager to assemble the things I buy--great produI got this desk in the "AS IS" section at my local IKEA store. Mine is ALL WHITE (which is what I wanted and even though it had one nick on the desk surface which I touched up with White Out), I was so happy to find it to use for a SEWING DESK. The two shallow drawers are just right for storing the small sized supplies you need while sewing. However, after about six months of light use, it is now sagging in the middle, which makes it look poorly constructed/designed. I am trying to figure out what to use to attractively support the middle so I can continue using it. Maybe an adjustable stainless leg? Or a small drawer unit to sit under it at one end? I have removed all of the items which may have caused it to sag (except, of course, the sewing machine, which is placed near the right end).
I have enjoyed incorporating many IKEA products in my home over the last 14 years and love almost everything I've purchased from IKEA, so this was disappointing. The three WHITE IKEA KITCHENS I've installed were very attractive and functional and helped sell the homes). Good desk.

EDIT**
After having this desk for 5 months i lowered my rating to 4 stars. Apparently using this desk as a computer desk just won't cut it for long time use. My mouse has worn off the brown coating on top of the desk showing a light brown bald spot where i frequent my mouse. Still is standing and working fine, but I'm probably going to have to paint the top now if I want to continue to use it and care about it's looks. I suppose if you guy this desk and then put some sort of covering on top to protect it, then it might be fine.

should i buy Techni Mobili Complete Media Computer Desk, reviews

Complete Media Computer Desk with side drawer , CPU and printer shelf. MDF panels covered with PVC laminated surface and powder coated steel frame. It includes a pullout keyboard with safety stop, an evelated printer shelf, media storage slots and a handy storage drawer and sliding scanner panel. A CPU bottom shelf keeps it off the floor. Large size work area. Ready ad easy to assemble. 5 Years Mfg. Warranty. One is always a bit wary when buying sight unseen. I liked the way this desk "looked". The design was sensible, and it incorparated some basic features that I wanted, like the slide out mouse/writing table, the drawer and the printer stand at the back right. I relied on other reviews here to make the final decision. And I was pleasantly surprised.

I was hoping that the finish was close to cherry. It is close, but it is a bit more red/orange than real cherry. But quite attractive. Assembling the desk was simple and straight-forward. Each part is numbered and easy to identify, including the many sets of screws, which are individually bagged and labeled. All the holes were pre-drilled and took the screws easily. Make sure you note the left and right sliders for the drawer and slide-out board when you remove the plastic wrappers. It took about an hour to complete the 10 or so assembly steps using one cordless screwdriver with a phillips head drive.

One reviewer here complained about not having adjustable legs to compensate for an uneven floor. The desk has six screw-in "feet" that can be adjusted up or down about an inch each. You install them in step one of the assembly processwe needed a small desk for my wife's laptop and she shopped for this for days look at hundred's from every where. It came in less than a week the freight company called when it got to our town and set a delivery day and approximate time WOW ! what service .It was well packed and the instructions were very clear and easy to assemble ,all holes and screws aligned up perfectly the finish on the desk was very good lots of space for her accessory's we recommend this product very highly would buy it again
Delivered quite quickly. I didn't wait for my husband to come home and put it together, which is what I would usually do cause they are always so difficult to put things like this together. I followed the very easy directions and it went together without any trouble at all! I was very impressed how easy it was. And am just as impressed with the desk itself. Very happy that I purchased this desk. It is not cheaply made, you can tell. Very sturdy and was happy that it didn't cost a great deal of money. Would recommend to anybody!
I like this solution because it includes a printer shelf, scanner tray. and a drawer to put stuff in. Plus it looks nice. The lamination might be a bit bubbly along the edges but it doesn't bother me much. Seems to be a solid-enough unit.

Assembly-wise I have never seen a do-it-yourself kit with parts labeled so completely; even the drawer slides were labeled RIGHT and LEFT (for those who wouldn't know otherwise?). It even came with extra screws! I've never seen that! However, the pilot holes in the drawer are too small and slightly crooked. Also, I have an IBM ThinkCenter tower PC which has a 1.5 inch rise along the top of the front of the case which prevents it from fitting, so I removed the CPU panel and just set it on the ground. This amazing little cart holds all my pc equipment in a very tiny space. I needed to move to a smaller space recently and my old desk wouldn't fit. This one does. It efficiently holds all the same equipment in half the space. I love it and I wonder why I never found anything similar before. I highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a new desk. Its not sexy but it sure does the job! I am 100% satisified with this desk. I've been using it for several weeks now and it's the perfect desk for me. It took me about two hours to put together. The directions are clear and the parts (including the screws) are labeled. They even give you spare screws and a screwdriver...you don't need any of your own tools. The quality of the materials is great. Worth the price too. If you're looking for a small desk, I recommend this one. This desk was a little confusing to put together at times. However, it looks nice (there is a bit of very dark brown running through the grain). It can be a bit wobbly when the printer is running. I read that some people could put this desk together in an hour or less so thought it would take me 5 hours. It took lots longer than that-I didn't understand how the screws worked in the bottom 2 pieces until the tech I called explained it, then found that one set was missing so had to wait for them to be mailed. When I got them I found that I did have an unlabled package of them that I hadn't known what to do with. I found it hard to assemble alone but managed it, although I had a lot of trouble with the pieces you had to do from underneath. There were 2 screws that I couldn't get in as the space to use the screwdriver was very small-it didn't seem to matter so I left them out and it seems quite stable. Someone better at furniture assembly could do it much easier than me. However, it finally came together and I really like the different features of the desk. Also it perfectly matches some other furniture in the wood color so I'm very happy with it now. This is a good, serviceable desk. It arrived in fine condition, shipped reasonably quickly. The surface area is generous, and the pull out shelves are well sized for keyboard, mouse, and assorted other accessories. I keep a legal pad and some pens in the drawer. If you have a larger screen monitor (Mine is 27"...my wife and I watch movies and TV on the computer) it doesn't fit in the back of the main desk area. You can either set it forward, or on the raised ledge above the CD holder. I have done the second, as it is sturdy and secure. Overall, excellent for the price range.

On the negative side is the assembly process. Overall, I have good things to say about this...all the parts were discreet and well labeled. Many preliminary parts of assembly that I've had to go through with other products are already done. (Drawer is assembled, caps are on the ends of the support arms, sockets are in place for the screws, etc.) Also, ALL necessities for assembly are included, though you'd do well to have a good screwdriver of your own, as the included one is quite small. This is a plus in some assembly steps, as the spaces you're working with are rather narrow sometimes. There was even a bag with extras for all the screws or easily lost parts. Well thought. So my problem is twofold. First, there are about a half dozen different types and sizes of screws, if not more. That's not a bad thing, just less than convenient, so forgivable in the name of good quality. In addition, some of the guide holes for smaller screws are entirely lacquered over...I had to scratch around where I thought a hole would be til I found one. Relatedly, some of those screws don't go in very smoothly. This could lead to a slightly wobbly assembly if you're not experienced or willing to put in a good deal of elbow grease.

The second...fold...is the assembly directions themselves. They are rather vague, and poorly worded in places. Worse still are the diagrams. These leave out important visual details which would make assembly much easier than it was. I found this frustrating, and considering how happy I am with all the other attention to detail put into this desk, very disappointing. If you have a good amount of experience with putting together these kinds of things, you will be able to push through, but I suspect less experienced buyers would struggle and have to redo certain steps.Although i was anxious when i ordered this due to a couple of not so good reviews, i was really positively surprised. This desk looks great and is really solid. All the equipment was there and everything fit perfectly. I must reiterate that it is really solid - much more than i expected. Price was ok - maybe just a little cheaper would have made me even happier but overall a great buy. I'm actually using it for both my home computer and my lap top - they both fit great (if you put the printer somewhere else).I love this desk! Yes, it was hard to put together. At least for my husband and me who have no clue what we're doing. But I think if you are the even the tiniest bit handy, it's actually a pretty easy desk to put together. But even though we found it really difficult, we had a lot of fun putting it together. And we did figure it all out in the end. We just had to keep undoing what we already did which was easy enough. And at the end, when it was all put together, we loved the finished product and it was totally worth all the hours we put into it. It's not the best quality in the world, but it was exactly what we were looking for.

My husband did the assembly work and said that the instructions were clear and all the pieces fit amazingly well together. The project took about 5 hours to complete and required two screw drivers (phillips and flat) and a hammer. Follow the directions step-by-step and take your time.
***His advice concerning tightening the "hidden cams." Overdoing will cause the particle board to break up---under doing will lead to instability. Make each one very snug but don't over-tighten. Don't just turn 210 degrees. Each hole is slightly different and may require fewer degrees to achieve the correct expansion of the cam dowel***
We have an iMac so he made two shelves in the section designated for the CPU giving us more space for letter-size folders/portfolios and assorted papers.
I plan to get a desk pad to prevent the keyboard from scruffing the surface of the shelf. (Happened to the old one after years of use). We also bought different hardware for the drawers. Holes in the front panels were pre-cut so we just puttied them in.
Very satisfied with this purchase. This is my second Sauder large wood computer desk. With some careful care, I think I can make this one last longer than the previous one (7 years)

The product comes in a large heavy cardboard box. Carefully unpack the box and make sure you have every part before you begin. It is not hard to put together, but it takes some time (perhaps 2-4 hours depending on your personal level of do-it-yourself skill). It helps to have a partner assemble it with you.

The end product looks tremendous. It is a fully functional computer desk with enough space for a large flat screen monitor. The computer sits in the bottom right cubby. A printer can either be placed on the top shelf or in the large space to the right of the screen. The two file cabinets are for hanging-type files. They seem sturdy and are easy to open and close. There are no locks on the file drawers. The backing is made of cheap simulated wood-grain cardboard. It is easy to dent. It is nailed to the supports of the desk.

Now thie important part - to make this desk last, DO NOT put any drinking glases of any kind on the desk! This is simulated wood, and it will not sustain water sitting on it for even a short while. A perspiring cup of whatever will cause the grain to raise and warp. The damage cannot be repaired. Therefore, get a clear flexible desk protector for both the desk area and perhaps on the pull-out keyboard shelf. These will protect the desk and keyboard shelf from inadvertent spills, sweaty hands, and the usual bumps and nicks that all furniture sustains. The desk can be dusted with a rag sprayed with dusting spray. Do not spray directly unto the desk! Wipe and dry.

Over a period of time, the desk will likely suffer some cosmetic damage - after all, it is a cheap wood/glue combination with a nice veneer. Nicks and scratches can be tinted with some appropriate wood stain.

My only complaint with this desk is that it does not have a pull-out drawer, as my previous model did. I liked that feature.

This is definitely an economy desk. A comparable real-wood desk would cost many hundreds of dollars more. With a little care and some tender loving treatment, this desk will add a touch of beauty and functionality to any home office areaThis desk is the highest quality peice of furniture I have ever put together out of a box. The instructions were clear and precise and the peices fit together perfectly. The price was right and I love using this desk on a daily basis. Ordered this desk about two years ago. The construction of this desk was a bit tedious. The front of one of the drawers was defective and the company was great at replacing it without question. The new piece arrived quickly. Once the desk was finished, I loved how sturdy it was. I have been told by a furniture mover that these desks are not that sturdy and are not meant to be moved from one home to another but we shall see. Would have preferred cherry wood instead of oak. I needed a desk for my new office in the basement bedroom. This one was priced within my budget, had the features I wanted, and wss the color I preferred. My husband had no trouble putting it together. He did mention that the the drawer bottoms were thin, but they are designed to hold hanging files not heavy stuffIt was processed and shipped in about 8 days. I received it 1 day after the notice that they were shipping it. Fed X delivered both cartons in good condition. The Driver offered to help me get them into the house. The directions were concise and easy to follow. However, it took me 5 hrs. to put together by myself. The product is exactly as pictured. It is top quality. My wife and I absolutely love it!!! It arrived with 4 defective pieces. Sauder replaced them no questions asked. The instructions can be a challenge and it took about 3 hours to assemble.
All in all this is a very nice looking inexpensive desk. Excellent product, the workstation is just what I was hoping for when I purchased it. The assembly is a bit involved but if you take your time & follow the directions step by step the workstation goes together well. Great desk - I really needed more storage room. It has two deep drawers and I think I would be happier with it if it had more hidden compartments.
Deep drawer space will not hold as much as normal size drawers. Hidden compartments that are small would not show a lot of little things necessary for a nice looking desk. Unfortunately, I did not realize this before purchasing. The instructions and desk parts did not match. For intense, the paper instructions showed numbers and letters to use as guide lines to and numbers and letters on the desk. There were no numbers and letters to compare with on the desk. Very hard to put together. The plywood was so thin it got damaged in putting together. When the whole desk was completely put together fortunately the damage didn't show and was very nice looking

should i buy Contemporary Home office Computer Desk reviews

ice Size, Nice Color. Is as pictured. Hard to assemble with cheap tool they give you. Need to go buy a special screwdriver (l-shape) to get in the small places. Printer section fits the Epson printer/scanner in depth and width but doesn't pull out far enough to feed the paper through. The keyboard pull-out is too close to the top of the printer to allow the paper to feed. With a different printer this Desk would workWe bought this desk in an attempt to organize our PC space. It shipped out quick, and was relatively easy to put together. The color is a dark walnut and a great compliment to our office. Looks great, and quite sturdy. Very happy with the purchase!I received the item broken, so i wrote them to get it returned and receive my money back, that started July 2nd.........it is now July 17th, and no one has come to pick it up and my emails are not being answered since July 9th....so now the window will expire and i will be out my money!!! This computer desk is just great, small, but big enough for everything, perfect for my much smaller apt. then my home was. I Love it, plus it rolls around, can't get much better. Thank you...Good purchase. Easy to assemble and fits great in a small area. Assembly time less than 2 hours. My printer is a Lexmark 5400 and is about an inch to tall to fit on the printer shelf. That's not a fault of the desk which I really like and wasn't a problem to solve. Printed has it's own location nearby. I have it in a carpeted room so it doesn't roll very easily, as it would on a hard floor, but it does roll. Great feature when cleaning is required. I would recommend this product. Product came damaged, but with all the trouble i had getting it delivered (through no fault of the company, but FedEx-whew!), customer service is LOUSY. emails are practically ignored. (there is absolutely no way someone could have actually READ MY EMAIL, and then respond they way they did). And talking to someone in customer service Ha! Even when someone FINALLY called me back and left their name and extension, I still couldn't get through to them. Either you accepted one of the choices their machine gave (and none would help me) or you were disconnected.

Story too long to write, but got the desk, noticed the damage right out of the box, but just chalked it up as "my loss-lesson learned." We bought this desk in an attempt to organize our PC space. should i buy Ameriwood Corner Computer Desk reviews

Save space and create an ultra efficient work area with this corner desk design from Ameriwood. Featuring ample storage for a CPU, CDs, and other necessary equipment, the desk can be set up to personally suit changing needs. A handy slide-out keyboard shelf makes for easy typing, and the neutral colors help it blend in most any decor. Overall it measures 42.43 inches wide by 42.43 inches deep by 47.81 inches high and weighs 113 pounds. I had ordered this desk because it looked very similar to a corner desk I owned about ten years ago, and was very happy with.
After assembling the desk, I discovered to my dismay that it is too short for me to sit at in a normal office chair. The keyboard shelf makes it impossible for an adult to get their legs under the desk.
Furthermore, a desktop PC case will not fit in either of the pedastal shelves supporting the desk, so I had to put a small table next to the desk for the PC to sit on.
This desk might be a good choice for a child who uses a laptop, but it is just not large or tall enough to serve as an adult's PC desk. Everything went together well. All of the parts were there, and there was no shipping damage. It works better if this is being put together by one person to put the desk on the lower base first. Then add the upper cabinets. It makes a good desk for a computer. Couldn't of asked for a better price, the desk fit perfectly in my room, can't get much better than this, the quality for the price is perfect, not to mention the free shipping? Couldn't of asked for a better deal; If your thinking about getting it, do it. After lugging this thing up a flight of stairs and putting it together and then moving it I can say this is one heavy desk, and is a little bit smaller than the dimensions imply. One nitpick I have is the keyboard is definitely designed for children's desk chairs because it keeps bumping into my knee. Its a minor nitpick that I can easily remove if need be. The instructions are helpful even if the design is a little off and moving it is a pain in the rear. You cannot fit a monitor larger than 20 inches without removing the tops two shelving units but then why would you want to. The desk is pretty easy to put together - 2 people will be a big help, for some of it. The slide-out part for where the keyboard sits is kind of low however, it isn't very much higher than a regular chair, so you will most likely be stuck having your keyboard on top of the desk with your mouse. The shelves are a good size, and are about 9" deep. For the price it's a good desk. Only complaint I have with it, is what I mentioned about the keyboard slide-out. very easy instructions to follow. only took about 2 hours to put together. I would recomend it to anyone with kids, makes a great desk for them. very easy instructions to follow. only took about 2 hours to put together. should i buy Winsome Wood Kendall Computer Desk reviews

Quaintly styled like a classic writing desk, Winsome Wood’s Kendall computer desk blends old with new for an inviting yet highly functional work area that fits nicely into small spaces. Kendall features a nestled design with a rolling auxiliary desk surface tucked under the main stationary surface. A gap between the two allows for storage of a keyboard or papers, and both areas feature back rails to keep items securely in place. Made of solid and composite woods, the desk is finished in Antique Walnut and offers simple lines for a clean, timeless look. It measures 35.4 inches wide by 15.7 inches deep by 33 inches high. Ready to assemble with included tools. We want a product that looks like this and of this size but believe this product is so poorly built that it is not worth buying. Avoid!

Amazon was great. We ordered and the box arrived without any signs of damage. We started to unpack it and my wife noticed that an edge had broken off the top table. The particle board at the broken area was flaking badly which made it unacceptable as a new product. Alright, transport problems happen. We took pictures and decided to return to amazon.

After talking it over, we decided that to continue to build the table since the size was perfect and the finish looked okay. Our plan was to contact the manufacturer for a new top and/or talk to Amazon to replace one with a broken edge. A few seconds later we got to the smaller top and one side literally fell off before we even touched it! The side has split as a result of the wood screws the manufacturer used to connect the side to the top. This was no damage but rather very, very cheap construction. We saw that the side was basically pressed cardboard. Gack! Other side was also starting to split but had not yet separated.

That settled it. This product is awful. I'm sad to see that a Washington State product is of such poor quality. (We live in Washington State.) It aggravating because the size is perfect for our needs and the product fit our room. Since the table is narrow, I was concerned about stability. The idea was to use earthquake fasteners to snug it to the wall as I was planning on putting a very expensive monitor on it, a Dell U3011. I definitely did not want the monitor to fall! In reading the Amazon reviews prior to purchasing, some reviewers had noted that the smaller table can fall when pulled out too far as it only has two legs. Okay, I could live with that as it would only hold a keyboard and mouse.

Our options: No question that the product had to go back for a refund. We verified this with Amazon customer service before purchasing and were impressed by how easy it was to get an RMA. Okay, we can chance buying furniture again from Amazon. Other options, maybe we can find a woodworking friend to build us a similar table to the winsome Wood Kendall Computer Desk for not too much and I can finish it. <sigh> Great idea from Kendall, very very cheap construction.Item arrived in great shape. Assembly was slightly problematic given that the provided allen wrench was of low quality and stripped before I had the screws all the way in. Please note that the provided screw head was fine and did not strip. I found another one in my allen wrench collection from another furniture assembly product that did the trick.

I'm even using a non-rolling chair with the desk which I thought would be problematic, but I just push the desk back instead. Works great! This is a great wood desk, nice color. Instructions are lacking, however, we did get it assembled. I use it beside my bed, nice height. Would purchase again, great price for wood desk that is made fairly good. The manufacturer does not give useful dimensions for this product. The height of the surface of the lower desk is 29", the upper part is about 33.5" I think the standard height for a desk for a keyboard is about 25", so the lower desk is really too high for a keyboard. I cut 4" off, and it looks like it will work fine.

The quality is about what I expected for the price. The legs are solid wood, the desk surfaces are fiber board with a faux wood surface. I purchased this desk after searching for weeks for something that would fit a relatively short and slim space. After reading feedback from previous purchasers, I realized there might be some problems with it, but since I couldn't find anything else that met all my requirements, I went ahead and bought it. The box arrived in the described time frame and I took out all the pieces and began to put it together. I was a bit dismayed to see that there was a large line/crack in the veneer on the writing surface of the back portion, but since it was at the seam I decided to let it go. However, when I was about 3/4 finished with the assembly, one of the legs (from the front slider part) literally fell apart in my hands. I had noticed a hairline crack on it earlier, but assumed this was just a flaw in the veneer like on the top -- wrong. It was a flaw that ran all the way through the wood and should never have passed inspection.

So after whimpering for a while, I went online and requested a replacement from Amazon. I opted for the self-ship return so I could keep the current desk (already mostly built) and just replace the broken/flawed parts once the replacement desk arrived. After another five-day wait the new one came, and I was able to pick and choose the parts I wanted to keep. So basically, after sorting through components from two desks, I was able to put together a final piece of decent quality. There are still a few cosmetic flaws on the legs, and one of the joints is glued slightly crookedly, but at least these aren't serious structural problems, and you don't really notice them in the finished product.I agree with other reviewers that the hardware on this desk is of the very cheapest quality, so BE GENTLE when tightening and don't overdo. Even being very cautious I stripped one of the screws (fortunately I was able to get it back off with pliers, but that wouldn't have been possible with all of them).

In summary, I'd say this: if you're willing to be patient, or you get lucky and receive a decent set of parts in the first go, this is a very nice desk for the price. I suspect it's inexpensive because they're using an inferior-grade wood, which accounts for the various flaws and problems. That said, the wood finish is quite pretty, and I absolutely love the slim footprint and clever, space-saving design. (N.B.: If you have this on carpet, you do have to be careful when pulling out the front section -- I find if I hang onto the back section as I tug, it works pretty well. Might be easier on hardwood floors.) However, be prepared to deal with serious quality control issues. For me, now that the hassle part is over, I'm happy with it. I put this desk together last night, took less than an hour and was easier than the stool I got to go with it. I am not skilled at assembling furniture and was really dreading it, but I had no problems. The desk arrived in good shape and looks great. It's the perfect size for my space, and I have no complaints.

<sigh> Great idea from Kendall, very very cheap construction.

Stay away!!! Love the cute little desk, just the right size, shape, color, style. Not too difficult to assemble. But one of the cute wooden caster wheels falls right off because its axle falls right out of the threading hole. I emailed the company; no answer yet. Doubt I'll have one. .If it wasn't for the missing assembly instructions, parts and tools, along with the terrible customer service from an Amazon.com representative, I would probably like the desk. However, the experience of trying to acquire the missing items was horrible and nothing but a hassle for me. I hope if you order this desk it comes with the necessary parts to actually assemble. Fairly easy to put together if you've had previous experience with flat-box furniture kits, although the enclosed instructions could have been just a bit less cryptic (there were a couple of puzzling moments). But once assembled, this is a very nice piece of wood furniture--solidly made, nice finish, nice color--and it goes well with my home decor (doesn't scream "home office" and stand apart from the rest of the furnishings in the room). One feature that I like is the sliding keyboard section: you can just slide it in and stand up without pushing your chair back, which can sometimes be difficult on carpeting unless you use one of those plastic floor mats under your chair. Very pleased with it, and I highly recommend this product.
This desk was just the right size and would accomadate my needs. It took about thirty minutes to assemble, not bad at all. The only problem was the hex tool was really inadequate. It was a good thing I had another to complete the job. The desk has a nice finish and is attractive. My daughter in law ordered a Pottery Barn desk just a few days ago and by comparison I'd say this desk is just as efficient and a heck of a lot cheaper.

should i buy Z-Line Brisa Desk reviews

I wish I did some research before buying this desk. At the time I really needed a desk for a computer I just built so I went to staples and bought it on a whim. Now I regret it. The "wood" part seems to be made out of MDF and the edges are chipped. This desk is also way too high to use a mouse and keyboard. I measured 31" high and my shoulders hurt so much, but it's the only thing I got. My OCD is also kicking in... I placed this desk against a wall with windows and whenever the line shines it I can see all the imperfections of the glass, I see streaks, smudges, a ton of lines(scratches) and dust, even after I clean this desk I still see them and I clean it again. I wish there was a way to trade this thing for a Z line Claremont. We bought it for home office and it is perfect - classy office look that still looks "homey". Assembly instructions are clear, assembly itself was fast and easy. Desk seems very well made, good quality materials, design, construction. Worth every penny and then some. Very easy to put together, feels very sturdy and plenty of room. Looks better then pictured Product arrived on time and it was packaged securely. Depending upon the time of the day that you work on this product, it would typically take about 1 to 2 hours to put it together. The product is very sturdy and it is very easy to manage. I spent about $170 on this desk, for the price, the build quality and assembly exceeded my expectations. The keyboard tray is only large enough to hold a normal keyboard nothing else, the bottom shelf on the "side desk" will hold two PCs, the monitor stand barely holds a single monitor (the wood fiberboard shelf is garbage, the welded metal Cs are sturdy) and the instructions are detailed and well communicated. Worth the money, I would buy another.

Build:
The desk arrives broken down to its basic elements, nothing is preassembled, so if you are not looking forward to a bit of construction look elsewhere. That being said the instructions are detailed and nearly flawless (I believe the second step omits which direction two of the piece should be assembled; when I'm near the instructions I'll edit with specifics). The hardware is broken down into baggies with letters that are referenced in the instructions; I want to meet these people and thank them for the effort on their end to make this an easy assembly. The instructions claimed an exact 55 minutes for assembly, is this a bit of humor in an instruction manual? While I didn't sit down with a stop watch, it seems a reasonable estimate, though I'd leave a full 2 hours for unpacking, assembly and cleanup. I agree with a few of the other comments, the packaging is exquisite and while the exterior of the box was rather beaten up during shipment everything came through unharmed. Even the glass arrived safe, which by the way is on the bottom, assuming you open the package with the nice picture facing up, and which I was dreading getting to and finding shattered to a million pieces. There is a plethora of polystyrene foam (incorrectly referred to as Styrofoam) that stuck to everything; a few pieces had decided to detonate during shipment, which then stuck to every piece of the desk during assembly.

Side note:
There are a few danger stickers attached to the glass. I believe they report possible death and certain dismemberment, though I cannot remember exactly. You will need something on the order of a razor blade and acetone to take them off. Possibly a propane torch. I don't know who these people are, though I know they sit up all night giggling, no, cackling, to themselves over how diabolical they are sticking nearly permanent stickers to ever product I buy, but I do hate them with a vengeance.

Lifting:
2 people are required to move the entire assembled desk and it should be done with care. The desk is very sturdy on the ground, but in the air it can be twisted very easily with two people lifting at either of the short ends of the desk.

Space:
The keyboard tray is large enough for 1 full size keyboard with numpad. I was able to fit a slimline keyboard (no numpad) and a mouse w/ mouse pad. The monitor stand can hold one monitor. The "side desk" bottom shelf can hold two PCs side by side.

Monitor Stand:
If you put one monitor on it, it'll sag a wee bit, but will hold.
For me it was disappointing. Clearly a lot of thought was put into the design of the desk and quite frankly for $170 I was impressed, but clearly they had an intern (no offense interns) design the monitor stand, it just doesn't hold its weight, literally. There is a nice page in the back of the book, which I'll snap a picture of and post, that lists the weight each section will accept. The monitor stand states it holds 50lbs. The welded C brackets can indeed. The fiber board shelf shipped with the desk cannot. I built a hollow "shelf", I've posted pictures, out of oak, which does indeed prove that the welded metal is capable of its weight support claims. I have a dual monitor stand weighing in around 28lbs that sits sturdily on my modified monitor stand. The good news is that the stand can be easily removed and the desk looks perfect, however while I felt I had more than received my money's worth, I had already fallen in love with the idea of getting my 2 monitors up off the desk and out of the way of my notebooks, speakers and random assortment of junk, hence the constructing of the oak "shelf".Desk met everyone of my needs; size, look and durability. Setup was not easy but doable and instructions are not so clear, but I am sure some could argue that either way.Instructions were lacking in which direction to place several of the pieces, the must annoying thing is the screws that are included to attach the keyboard slides to the upper frame and the cross brace to the rear frame are wood screws and have too small of a wire size to grip into the the holes punched into the tubes. Either they need to supply different screws or ream out the holes slightly to allow for the use of the screws supplied. Other than that the desk is well designed and is very functional. Pretty simple desk that was easy to put together, just takes some time. Looks the way it was described and worth the price The desk is considerably easy to assemble, looks nice, comfortable to use, right height, spacious working area.
One thing that needs to be considered is that all cords that usually hidden behind the back will be open to view. I wish there was a way to trade this thing for a Z line Claremont. ust like it looks online. Nice-looking dark wood. If you want to get an idea how it looks, go to Staples-- they sell a different version with lighter wood but I prefer this dark wood. The Staples version doesn't have the computer monitor stand either. We're currently using the monitor stand but will be taking it down as there is a bulge in the middle due to the monitor's weight-- they table looks just fine without it anyway.

Would have been even better if it had some file drawers, but that may have taken away from the overall open look. Would definitely buy it again.

should i buy Bush Furniture Vantage Corner Desk, reviews

This attractive corner desk from Bush Furniture’s Vantage collection affords ample surface and storage space for a home office. Crafted from medium density fiberboard and paper, a rich harvest cherry finish adorns the desk for an elegant veneer. The left side of the desk features an elevated shelf, great for a desk lamp or printer, a small storage shelf, and a CPU storage compartment. For adjusting computer wires and cables, the desk supplies rear access to the CPU compartment. A frosted glass window covers the front of the compartment for CPU concealment. Next to the elevated desk section, the desk contains a file drawer for letter-sized file folders, a second small storage drawer, and two open storage compartments. The shelf separating the open compartments can be adjusted for varied height, or removed for one larger storage space. For ideal monitor placement, the main desktop lies at a diagonal angle so that the user faces the corner of both the room and the desk. A sliding keyboard and mouse tray is mounted underneath the desktop. In the center and right corners of the corner desk, two L-shaped legs extend and lay flush on the floor to support the desktop’s weight. All drawers and the CPU compartment door open with a tug on the chrome loop-style handles. The corner desk requires home assembly and comes with necessary hardware and instructions. In the event of defects, a one-year limited warranty covers this item. The corner desk measures 58-1/2 inches wide by 38-2/5 inches deep by 35-2/5 inches high assembled. Upon shipping, the desk weighs 138 pounds. This desk looks nice, but the quality is poor. The drawers were damage when received, I called the customer service and they sent me the new ones.
Some parts of the desk should be metal but they are plastic instead. So, it is very easy to break. My 16 months old son opened the drawers and CPU door a few times and they broke. They are very easy to get scratches. I hate this about a lot of pressed board furniture: the pre-drilled holes are not in the right place and the drawers and doors are all crooked when you're finished.

It looks sloppy. The door is the only straight piece on this because it can be adjusted with the hinges.

The keyboard tray slides out very easily which is sometimes not so with this type of furniture. It is a beautiful color and would look awesome if the drawers weren't so crooked.

It's very solid, doesn't wobbly at all and has just the right amount of storage space. It has a nice thin 2 shelf system above the filing cabinet section that is perfect for routers, cable modems & other small devices to be placed and free up desk/floor space.

Next time I will be spending more for real wood furniture with STRAIGHT drawers. But for the price, this serves it's purpose well. I rarely write a bad review, but I feel I owe it to those of you considering this desk. While it may look pretty, if you planning on using it for its purpose, you will find it will let you down greatly. I've had screws pull out of the pressboard (in several places!), the filing drawer is always collapsing on me and the hinges to the computer cabinet come loose when you look at them wrong. I am by no means rough on my furniture which is what makes this even more disappointing...This desk looked nice when we got it, however, within a year it started to totally fall apart. Moving it started all the problems. After that it became very unstable. Now, 2 years later, a drawer front has fallen off, and in addition to being rickety, the finish is coming off all over the place. There are chips and nicks over the entire work surface. I wouldn't recommend it. Took about 2 hours to put together had great instructions and everything was labeled to make is super easy to put together. Love the look of it and it definitely has lots of storage space. I would definitely recommend. We used this desk for 3 years. We're throwing it out. All the handles broke in half, the drawers broke and it was a hot mess in no time at all. Not worth the money unless it's just for show. We bought this desk from OfficeMax for less than Amazon is selling it, but as OfficeMax requires that we sign up for an account before we review, I figured I could find it here - and I did!My husband and I got this desk put together in about 4-5 collective hrs (we spent a few days doing it) and while we're overall okay with it, we definitely have some lining up issues - the glass-front door is parallel with the drawers but not with the desk itself, the back-side cover isn't flush, etc. There are also some minor cosmetic issues - but thankfully we got lucky and it's on the parts that you can't see unless you're looking for them.Illustration-only assembly instructions grossly inadequate. Several parts depicted in illustrations that were not included or mentioned as only optional. Wasted much time searching for things that were not there. When very gently standing up one of the two major pieces for connection, it flexed perhaps 5 degrees and tore the cam lock and post mechanisms and associated particle board out, rendering the whole project a 120-dollar piece of trash. I have previously assembled many, many pieces of furniture without incident. Pretty in the pictures, but in reality. This desk is very cheaply made at an expensive price. Took about 4 hours to put it together. The door fell off the same day. The drawers do not align correctly due to the pre drilled holes. The desktop scratches very easy. It is advertised as a corner desk but it is definitely not a corner desk. So if you are looking for a corner desk, this is not the one. I am very unhappy with this desk as it is really shoddy materials. Buyer Beware!!!! My parents bought this desk locally. I spent a while putting it together. Some pieces of it were already broken and all of the pieces are rather flimsy. I do not recommend spending money on this desk. After a day the keyboard tray fell off--the screws stripped right out of the underside of the desktop. This is a very poor quality item. I like this desk. It's very sturdy. I've had it for about 6 months now and still no signs of wobbling or broken parts. The only sign of wear is where the mouse is used, I don't have a mouse pad so the finish shows signs of wear.

The glass door is adjustable. It used to rub against the drawers until I read the manual again and there is a screw on each hinge to adjust it. No more rubbing.
