This desk is perfect for my room, very sturdy also. The frosted bottom of the glass gives it a great look.
My
only issue with this desk (but hardly deserving of 4 stars) is the
assembly. While the concept of assembling it is very easy, the screws
going into holes is not. The corner piece was a little bit of a pain to
attach to the left and right side of the desk and not being lined up
perfectly. I had to adjust a few things. Like put flat washers here and
there to make the glass level with each other. Other than my assembly
frustration, definitely the best desk I have seen around and great for
value.
This desk took me a several hours to put together. There were no pieces
missing which is always a good thing. Everything was well marked and
the packaging was pretty good as well. Although there was some shifting
of some of the components during shipping, none were scratched or
damaged. There were some problems with the glass tops being equally
level where they butt up to each other, so I had to use some rubber
washers to raise the lower pieces up to match the higher one. This was
not a big issue since I had an assortment of washers, but it would be
nice if they included some rubber washers for this purpose as I did note
another person with the same issue here on Amazon before I purchased my
desk. Now that the desk is complete I will say that other than the
keyboard drawer not being wide enough to fit a standard keyboard and a
mouse pad I love it. I just put the mouse pad on top of the desk. It is
a solid desk, the keyboard drawer slides well and the light green tint
to the glass does not show dust! If it were not for the "undersized"
keyboard and flush issues with the top I would have given this desk a 5
star rating. It is a great looking desk that I consider an excellent
value and I do highly recommend it.
This desk was a great buy. I gave it 4 stars due to building it but
still highly recommend it to anyone that has a little patience when
putting things together. It takes a little bit of time to get all the
glass lined up evenly but if wait to tighten the screws down and make
sure you're building it where its going to go so the floor level is
accounted for its fairly easy. Not a huge fan of the quality of the
screws and I'm sure they are made from pot metal, so be careful screwing
them in as not to strip them. Overall took about 1.5-2 hours to build
by myself and the plus side is it looks great.
**NOTE - The boxes
were pretty busted up but there was zero damage to any of the parts
inside due to the way its packaged inside.
I was a bit concerned when this arrived. The cardboard packaging was
very low quality and very soft. However, the internal packaging did the
job and nothing was damaged, even though the shipping straps had cut
well into both boxes. Assemby instructions had no words but the
pictures worked great. A couple words on the leveling process to even
the work surface would have been helpfull, but managed without. Several
reviews read before ordering complained about the keybaord drawer. I
use a full size Logitech keyboard, and still have room for the mouse -
and it works great without a mousepad on the graphite surface. A pencil
drawer on the other side would have been really nice, instead of the CPU
caddy which is extraneous for me and the rest of the world who have
moved on to laptops. Its a bit smaller than the creative pictures
suggest, but is working great in my showroom. Its a great match for a
high tech setting. I am happy I chose these materials, as it quite
appears it will be a very durable piece.
This desk was perfect for my new Audio workstation. Just the right size
for the corner of my decent sized bedroom. put it together in about 2
hours. it's well made and sturdy. I wouldnt use the caddy as my PC
case is too robust for it and its an uneccessary addition.
Installation notes:
1.
don't use a cordless screwdriver...the screw heads are cheap and will
strip easily. don't be an "idiot man of the house hard guy" who needs to
use a screw gun on everything to save time and look cool.. use a
regular screwdriver. It's not that difficult.
2. leave the middle
bracket assembly screws ( the triangle looking piece) a bit loose so
you can adjust them, before you put the glass on. that way you can
adjust the brackets if you need to get the glass to lay flush, I needed
to do this. THEN tighten the bracket screws and win.
3. DO NOT
use windex or any other kind of glass cleaner on the glass, and it says
this quite clearly on the manual. I used plain water and it works fine,
also be careful not to scratch the underside of the glass when
handling, you'll be looking at the mark forever, and the appearance is
already sort of uneven by design.
I received the two boxes containing the desk on Friday and saw that one
of the boxes was quite haggard-looking on the outside. As I inspected
the first box, things were still packed nicely and there were no
problems. But on opening the haggard-looking box, the main metal support
frames and black wood panels were loosely scattered throughout the
inside of the box. I am unsure as to whether they became loose before
they were shipped or during their shipment, but there are several deep
scratches in the metal posts and one of the black wood panels has a
small piece chipped away on the corner. There are other marks on the
wood that seem to have happened because the pieces were not secured well
and protected from each other in the packaging. The desk is functional
and fit securely together notwithstanding these blemishes sustained from
poor packaging.
I really like this desk, it looks great and was easy to assemble. I
have a 15" MBP and 24" Samsung monitor on the desk along with an Epson
scanner and feel that the size of the desk is just right. The desk is
very durable and holds up to abuse from my toddler very well. It still
looks fantastic after months of use. No wabble, this is a very solid
and sturdy desk compared to the crap you will find at Staples/Office
Depot.
A bit higher than I wanted to pay for a desk... It looks good. Don't
touch the frosting AT ALL or it leaves wet looking fingerprint marks.
Looks almost like the frosting has rubbed off. Haven't tried to clean it
yet, afraid it will just make it worst. The corner piece was ridiculous
to install. Only 2 of the 3 screw holes would line up. It came missing 1
screw & 1 screw hole attachment thing for the graphite looking base
pieces. Also each piece of glass is stamped "Tempered Glass" on the
side where you are sitting.. They could of at least put that on a less
visible area or not at all. Seems sturdy. You will need a mouse pad of
some sort. Optical mouses don't work well at all on this glass. Haven't
tried a laser mouse yet.
I use it daily, and it was really easy to put together. I have a 32
inch monitor that is on the corner piece. There is not any support
there, and I feel safer with a little support under that heavy monitor.
That is the only bad part.
The desk is exactly as described. The glass looks great, albeit two of
the pieces have "Tempered Glass." stamped on the edge while the third
piece has ".Tempered Glass" stamped on the corner. The desk itself is
stable and sturdy and looks great. It takes about an hour and a half to
two hours to put together, but the directions are pretty simple. Overall
pretty pleased with my purchase. Deducted one star for being a little
pricey.
Protip: When assembling the desk, poke the supplied
screwdriver into the holes on the mdf boards so that the little metal
bit that will hold the screw once you put it together is aligned
properly. It will make putting the boards on to the legs much easier.
This is a great looking desk and very easy to put together. Instructions
were very well written and all bolt come with their own bag that is
individually marked by size. This is one of the most organized pieces of
furniture I've ever bought. Once put together this desk is like a rock
very sturdy and very appealing to the eye. One note to make it the part
that holds the key board is not the same length as the other part of the
desk, in pictures it looks close to being the same in reality it is
just a little wider that the keyboard tray. Only other thing to watch is
if you use a drill to put bolts in make sure it is set on a low setting
and you have plenty of pressure on bolt, they like to strip very
easily. Overall this is a good quality desk for a very good price.
