I was in the market for a smaller L-shaped glass top desk and found it
on Amazon $50 less than O-stock. Since I love quality reviews when
considering a purchase I'll cut the long winded stream of paragraphs and
hope this list form helps you with your decision AND assembly:o It may help to move the completed frame into place before installing
the glass; setting up and laying out your computer lines first saves a
lot of time and headaches if you plan on having this in a corner
o
Total time from setting the box down to the last piece of glass
installed was about 35 minutes (I've done a lot of home assemblies so it
may take about an hour for a complete beginner)
I was honestly
surprised because in the past I've bought particle board desks that were
pieces of garbage in the same price range. Overall this was a
fantastic item (and a total steal) for $100 with free shipping. Highly
recommended to anyone looking for a smaller glass top corner desk.
This computer desk is very easy to put together; I guess it took about one - very leisurely - hour from start to finish.
It is definitely sturdy enough for my purposes.
Interestingly
enough, outside of the framing and glass apparatus, it came with two
more of everything (i.e. screws and plugs) than needed.
While it does come with an Allen wrench you will need to furnish your own Phillips head screwdriver. This is an excellent desk for the money. It is the perfect size "L" desk
for a small space. It is very modern and sleek looking. The black glass
looks much better in real life than in the photos (and it matches the
rest of my decor perfectly). It is extra slick and shiny. It was very
easy to put together and seems much more sturdy than another "L" desk I
bought a couple of years ago. Love it! The only downside is...it's
impossible to keep clean. But that's what you get with black glass lol.
I couldn't be much happier with this desk. The assembly process was very
straightforward and took about 30 minutes. The only problem with
assembly is that one of the feet did not thread properly into the PC
tower stand, but I don't use that so it's not a big problem. The
appearance of the desk is sweet. Very modern and clean. The glass does
show fingerprints and smudges, but it's easily cleaned. I use the desk
for a wireless laser printer, two 17" notebooks, and a 24" HD monitor
and everything fits quite well with a little room to spare. I use a
small wireless bluetooth keyboard and an optical bluetooth mouse. Both
fit well on the keyboard tray; however as others have mentioned, a full
size keyboard alone would barely fit on this tray and there would
certainly be no room for a mouse. I'm 6'2" and have no problem sitting
comfortably behind this desk. My kness don't hit the glass or the
supporting crossbars. The only issue with this desk is that the glass is
painted instead of smoked. That's it. Aside from that it's great, and
an absolute steal considering the price.
I like the desk except that you can't stretch out your legs under the
desk, the metal supports get in the way. I sit at my desk for extended
periods of time and this has become a problem so I'm thinking about
trying to find another one with higher supports and more leg room.
As other reviews mentioned all the pieces come covered in what appears
to be fiber glass (though I was covered in the stuff and did not get any
splinters or itchiness, so perhaps it's something else). Either way, it
is pretty annoying and requires cleaning. The most obnoxious thing is
that there were several marks on each of the glass panes straight out of
the box. The desk is for home use so we weren't too concerned but this
would be a problem if it was for a professional setting. If you've never
assembled boxed furniture before you may want to get help with this
one, it's a little tricky. Overall it's a great desk. I purchased it for
my mother on Mother's Day and she has really enjoyed it.
